Apocalypse (Greek: Ἀποκάλυψις Apokálypsis; "lifting of the veil") is a term applied to the disclosure to certain privileged persons of something hidden from the majority of humankind. Today the term is often used to refer to the end of the world, which may be a shortening of the phrase apokalupsis eschaton, which literally means "revelation at the end of the æon, or age.(1) "

The unraveling of the US and global financial system should not be a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention, doubted the news headlines over the past decade, or plunged into an odyssey of self- and world-discovery by reading books, studying history, or seeking the truth behind the cultural myths that cocoon Americans into the notion that they live in the world’s beacon of democracy and freedom. The most surprising factor is that people who have created the crisis think that they can continue the scam by stealing another $850,000,000,000 overtly through the bailout, and even larger amounts covertly, to keep the game going for the world’s wealthiest people at the expense of everyone else.

In the past, Egypt, Babylon, Persia, and Rome fell when a small percentage of the population controlled nearly all of the wealth.(2) Today, the rich have never been richer nor the poor poorer. The concentration of wealth has been achieved by conquest, as well as by one of the most powerful tools of empire—money.

Debt-based monetary systems are the building blocks of empires, and generally empires collapse or topple when they have destroyed their ecological base. The current global empire severely threatens the forests, the oceans, the climate, the fertility of the soil, the aquifers, the bees, and innumerable other species, including humanity.

There is a Cree prophecy that goes as follows(3):

“When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money.”

Caught up in the empire game, many have forgotten the difference between money and real wealth. Money is a human invention. It is not neutral. Who creates it, how it flows in a society, a nation, and the world is important and subject to change. Money is an agreement that can be backed either by force or by a spirit of cooperation.(4)

Bankers, like magicians, do not want to reveal their secrets. Able to create money out of thin air, they have learned that belief in the value of money is the key to their success. When people begin to doubt the purchasing power of money, banks fail and currencies collapse.

The “modern” fractional reserve banking system has evolved over centuries.(5) “Mortgage” literally means “death-gamble.” When mortgages were first introduced, those who risked their land to borrow money were literally risking the lives of their families, their liberty, and their hopes for the future. Only gradually, over eons of time, did the idea of a “mortgage” become more commonplace, acceptable, and even encouraged. Mortgages became attached to the “dream of home ownership” and provided the liquid currency to fuel “national economies.”

The origins of paper money can be traced to receipts that goldsmiths provided to their customers, who would leave their gold with a goldsmith for safekeeping. Centuries ago goldsmiths began giving out receipts for the gold that they safeguarded, and people soon learned that the receipts were more useful for business transactions than heavy amounts of gold. Some enterprising goldsmith figured out that it was not necessary to maintain a supply of gold equal to all the receipts issued, because all the customers would never come to claim their gold at the same time. Because large amounts of gold weren't necessary to ensure the utility of receipts, the goldsmith was able to issue many times as many receipts as he had gold in his vault, and the fractional reserve system was born. Since goldsmiths began to loan gold and receipts at interest, the system of "debt money" was born in which customers had to pay back more money (receipts) than were in circulation—thus ensuring that the community as a whole would always be in debt to the goldsmith.

When money is created by the banks and loaned to governments or business at interest, it is mathematically impossible to pay back all the money with interest. Not all debts can be repaid, so foreclosures occur. In this way wealth is continually transferred from the poor to the rich.

Kings, queens, and nations have succumbed to the power of those who lend them money, finance their wars, pay their armed forces—and own the means of communication, which either provide rulers their aura of legitimacy or can just as easily demonize and dethrone them.

Over a hundred years ago, the populist movement in the United States rose up in the wake of the collapse of agricultural prices that threatened farmers and enriched bankers. The farmers pushed for monetary reform, including the demand that dollars be backed by silver rather than gold. The populists also argued that money should be created by the government for the benefit of the people, rather than by banks for the benefit of the bankers.

In 1890 the German economist Silvio Gesell formulated a theory of money that was as revolutionary as the notion that the earth circles the sun, rather than the other way around—despite appearances. Gesell suggested securing the money flow by making money a governmental service subject to a use fee. Instead of paying interest to those who have more money than they need, people would pay a small fee if they kept money out of circulation. The fee would serve as income to the government and would reduce the amount of taxes needed to carry out public tasks.

Gesell's ideas were tested by the mayor of Worgl, Austria, in 1932 when economic conditions were deplorable. The mayor proposed to substitute a local currency for the national currency—which he called “work certificates.” On the first of every month the holder had to affix a 1 percent stamp of the face value of the certificate. The "taxes" went into the community chest, to provide a relief fund for the invalids or elderly who were unable to work. Because of the stamp tax, taxes were paid quickly, accounts were settled without the usual delays, and even the bank became eager to loan out money, as fast as it received it.

The mayor then embarked upon a public works program "to alleviate want, give work and bread," which exceeded his highest hopes. The conditions of the streets of Worgl had been a standing joke to the people in the surrounding countryside. In less than four months, sewers and improvements were completed. Later, other streets were paved, and even streets outside of Worgl were repaired. Prosperity blossomed throughout Worgl.

Inspired by Worgl’s success, a meeting of 200 Austrian mayors decided unanimously to follow the Worgl example in their impoverished communities. At this point, fearful of losing its power, the private Austrian National Bank protested against the shattering of its money-making monopoly. After a legal fight, the Austrian Supreme Court sided with the bank, as might be expected. Although this experiment was abruptly terminated in Austria, the Worgl experience inspired three or four hundred scrips in circulation in the United States, Canada, and Mexico during the Great Depression.(6)

If the Federal Reserve were actually a part of the US government, would the US government need to borrow money? Wouldn’t it be able to just print its own? In 1913 the Federal Reserve Act took away Congress’s Constitutional power of regulating the value of money and bequeathed it to private banks.(7) Since then the financial plight of the US government has been dire and under pressure from the very rich, who choose which candidates and politicians will serve their interests and oust those who threaten them.

In recent times there have been numerous communications revolutions, including radio, television, and the Internet, and social movements have also arisen. At the same time there has also been the consolidation and expansion of corporate power served by new centers of supranational power, such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization. Alex Carey said:

"The twentieth century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: the growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy.''(8)

During this time money and resources have flowed from poor countries to rich industrialized nations. The Structural Adjustment Programs forced upon nations by the World Bank and the IMF have meant shifting food production from domestic needs to export crops, devaluing local currency to encourage exports, cutting social spending on health and education, reducing wages, privatizing national industries, selling off natural resources, and removing tariff protections for local industries. Hunger, unemployment, hardship and inequality are the direct and calculated results of these World Bank policies.

The vertical integration of entire industries has taken place with the rise of giant transnational corporations whose economies are larger than that of many countries.

At the end of World War II, when the Bretton Woods Agreements were signed, the dollar became the de facto “world currency” and was backed by American gold reserves. In 1972, in the midst of the Vietnam War, when President Nixon detached the dollar from the gold standard, he detached the dollar from anything of real tangible value and basically allowed the currency rates of every nation to fluctuate in relationship to one another’s currencies. The dollar was then backed by oil and American military might.

In those days 98 percent of foreign exchange transactions had to do with the exchange of goods and services and only 2 percent were speculative. Today the vast majority of foreign exchange transactions have been speculative and less than 2 percent are for the exchange of real goods and services.

Measurements have inherent limitations and biases. The family existed before money did. Villages grew out of interdependent relationships between families. As societies have grown more complex, hierarchies have developed and the "public family" or the state has created institutions that have taken over many of the functions once met within the household, such as educating children and caring for the sick.(9)

In urban environments, basic living skills have been lost, people are more dependent than ever on the state or a monetized economy to meet their basic needs. In order to get slaves or labor to serve industries, people had to be forced away from the land where they once were able to sustain themselves.

In the film “Who's Counting? Marilyn Waring on Sex, Lies and Global Economics,” Marilyn unravels many of the problems in the global system. The IMF and the World Bank were created to maintain certain power relations and exercise control over the world's resources. The U.N. System of National Accounts was based upon a pamphlet entitled "How to Pay for the War." That system, imposed upon every country that joins the U.N., enables the global elite to finance their militaries, to engage in conflicts with other nations, and to build internal security forces to control populations who might not agree with the expropriation of their country's resources.

The system assumes that the unpaid work of women—who are bearing children, raising them, feeding them, carrying for the sick and aged, and maintaining a home or garden—is of little or no importance. Nor does the system recognize the value of forests or the natural world unless they can be chopped down and sold or monetized in some way. Monetary transactions are measured, no matter how devastating their effects are on the environment. The arms industry is the most lucrative of all industries. It is in the economic interest of the major powers that there always be a war going on somewhere. This pathological system does not recognize the inherent value of life, peace, or the earth itself. It does not even notice anything of unquantifiable value; it only sees that which it measures—money.(10)

Maximizing profits is the primary value in modern economics. The economic measure of monetary flow is directly related to the rape of the earth, the amount of exploitation occurring within a country, and how effectively the world's parasites are expropriating the labor of others and the natural world.

The global economy is a war economy. While the importance of oil for both energy and military purposes is enormous, dwarfing the oil industry in monetary terms is the illegal trafficking in drugs. Laundered drug money in enormous quantities has always found its way into the large financial centers and into key industries.

In criminal law, fraud is the crime or offense of deliberately deceiving another in order to damage them – usually, to obtain property or services unjustly …

Fraud for profit is often perpetrated by industry professionals. There are generally multiple loan transactions with several financial institutions involved. These frauds include misrepresentations including the following: Income is overstated, assets are overstated, collateral is overstated, the length of employment is overstated (or fictitious employment is reported), and employment is backstopped by conspirators. The property value is inflated (faulty appraisal) to increase the sales value to make up for there being no down payment and to generate cash proceeds in fraud for profit.(11)

In the 80s, Congress paved the way for the savings and loan scandal by loosening regulations, which cost taxpayers $160.1 billion. John McCain was one of the “Keating Five” rebuked by the Senate Ethics Committee for exercising "poor judgment" for intervening with the federal regulators on behalf of Charles Keating, who was at the center of the scandal and convicted of fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy.

The history of the stock market reveals a transition from investments in real companies producing tangible, measurable products and services toward “financial instruments” of an increasingly speculative nature. Electronic money, borrowed and loaned into existence, flowing through cyberspace, can wreak havoc and collapse entire nations’ economies. In the 90s the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI) was devised to ensure the ability of speculators and multinational corporations to move capital in and out of countries without governmental involvement or public interest safeguards.(12) Recognizing the dangers of this agreement to the interests of people everywhere, civil society organized global resistance via the Internet to defeat the MAI.

The 90s also witnessed major consolidation of the mass media, the frenzy of speculation in the high-tech industry, and the development and expansion of Internet commerce. New technologies permitted local, national, and international communications and organizing to occur, which profoundly challenged the credibility and legitimacy of established governments, corporations, and the corporate press.

Global resistance to corporate globalization broke through the mainstream media barrier in the US in 1999 in Seattle, Washington, when tens of thousands of protestors tried to peacefully shut down a World Trade Organization meeting. The first Indymedia.org website was created specifically for that protest to share information from the point of view of activists. Since then the Indymedia network has grown to span the globe—particularly in those cities where international protests have been organized, the main website is accessible in eight languages.

Under President Clinton in 1999 and the leadership of Senator Phil Gramm (now co-chair of the McCain campaign), Congress repealed the Glass-Steagall Act which removed Depression-era laws separating banking, insurance, and brokerage activities and helped pave the way for the next wave of financial integration and fraud. In late 2000 when Gramm chaired the Senate Banking Committee, he pushed through the Commodity Futures Modernization Act—which prohibited federal agencies from regulating financial products called credit default swaps, which have been used to back up the mortgage-based securities. The credit default swaps are the major reason for the 54 trillion dollar liabilities that are threatening financial institutions worldwide.13 (After the legislation passed, the Swiss bank UBS purchased American institutions. UBS then hired Gramm as a lobbyist and paid him over $750,000. UBS alone issues over $18 billion in subprime mortgages.)(14)

Throughout history there has been a struggle in all societies between a ruling class and the many who are not so privileged. Toynbee noted that the world struggle takes place between a few vested interests and social justice. There has always been a struggle between tyrants and ordinary people, where the people have made some gains and have also had setbacks.

Social movements are born when public myths are shattered, societal secrets are revealed, and people realize that powerholders are acting in violation of deeply held values. In the current era, the Internet has allowed for the increasingly rapid transmission of information challenging powerholders, institutions, and cultural myths.

Social movements are collective actions that alert, educate, and mobilize the public to redress social problems or grievances. With all the problems confronting humanity there are innumerable social movements, which have evolved and learned from one another. At times they have come together in increasingly powerful coalitions. Professor and author Anthony Hall has called them “the fourth world,”(15) and others refer to them as the “anti-corporate globalization movement” or the “global justice movement.”

In January of 2001 while the World Economic Forum was meeting in Switzerland, thousands of people from hundreds of countries met at the first World Social Forum in Porto Allegre, Brazil, a convergence of social movements. Their points of agreement included opposition to the policies of the IMF, World Bank, and WTO; opposition to militarism, corporate globalization, and environmental destruction; and support for public participation in decision-making processes, and for the respect for people and life over profits. Social movements are an evolutionary force that pushes people to live up to their ideals and values and enables people to exercise their collective power.

When people believe that power flows downward from those at the top of institutions towards the helpless at the bottom of the pyramid, tyranny rules. Most people believe in this model. Under this model, change can be achieved only by appealing to elites, using persuasion. However, when people discover their own power and belief in democracy—that government should be “of, by, and for the people”—power flows from them through institutions to powerholders and public servants. True democratic power comes from the bottom, results in social progress, and powerholders and policies are changed to meet popular social demands.(16)

The strategy of the powerholders is not to broadcast the truth about their beliefs, actions, policies, and programs. They know who benefits from the unfair distribution of benefits and costs within the existing system. They must keep their actual policies hidden from the public, because they rightly fear that the majority would rebel if they knew the truth. Powerholders habitually use myths, slogans, and rhetoric to sell their policies and programs to the public.

One of the great American myths that is promulgated by powerholders is the idea that we have a watchdog press. Over 3,000 people attended the last two National Conferences on Media Reform, primarily because of their deep concern about the failure of the traditional media. Lord Northcliffe said, “News is something that someone wants suppressed; all the rest is advertising.”

Colossal crimes have been committed and then masked by the media for centuries. But the larger pattern in this era of information—including names, dates, evidence, and various kinds of documentation—is coming to light at a staggering rate, beyond the capacity of any one individual to absorb, read, process, and disseminate all the details. In turn the information is gradually reaching the most heavily propagandized target audience—the American public, who are increasingly losing faith in their government, the war, the Congress, and the financial system.

As Aung San Suu Kyi wrote, "It is not power that corrupts, but fear—fear of losing power and fear of the scourge of those who wield it."

Fear, war, and terror are routinely used to shut down rational thinking processes—a tactic that Naomi Klein outlines in her book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism(17) (as well as in the video(18) ). Klein fails to recognize, however, that 9/11 was designed to terrorize Americans and the world into going along with the bogus “War on Terror,” to forget about the missing $2.3 trillion on the Department of Defense books(19), the stolen election(20) , the evidence destroyed in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s offices in World Trade Center 7(21), to not even notice the massive insider trading(22), and then to permit a giant escalation in the military budget and the construction of the surveillance industry. The plunge in the stock market and the “apparent attack” on America’s financial center also prompted the Fed to lower interest rates, which helped the housing market—and Bush encouraged folks to “go shopping.”

The best historical parallel to 9/11 would be the Reichstag fire, which Hitler used to vilify and target “communists” and pass the Enabling Act (similar to the PATRIOT Act), before launching wars of aggression. The PATRIOT Act was mirrored by legislation passed in Canada, Australia, and the UK, severely eroding civil rights and granting more power to governments to chill dissent—to monitor and crack down on those they considered a threat.

With the bust of the dot com bubble, speculative money went into real estate, housing, and derivatives(23) . Congress and the Bush administration changed laws and regulations to lure people into borrowing money, purchasing homes, and investing their savings in the 21st century Ponzi schemes. Elliot Spitzer was vilified by the press the day before he wrote an article naming Bush as the "Predator Lenders' Partner in Crime," saying

“In 2003, during the height of the predatory lending crisis, the OCC invoked a clause from the 1863 National Bank Act pre-empting all state predatory lending laws, thereby rendering them inoperative. The OCC also promulgated new rules that prevented states from enforcing any of their own consumer protection laws against national banks. …

"Not only did the Bush administration do nothing to protect consumers, it embarked on an aggressive and unprecedented campaign to prevent states from protecting their residents from the very problems to which the federal government was turning a blind eye."(24)

Close scrutiny of powerholders running the government, institutions, and corporations reveals conflicting loyalties and economic interests. Legislators in fact represent the millionaires and billionaires who fund them and who continually rewrite the rules in their own favor and have decided that the Constitution is obsolete.

The unfolding financial crisis has been arriving in wave after destructive wave. People have lost their homes, their jobs, their savings, their health, their marriages, their kids, and finally their hope.

The housing bubble began to burst when home prices in the US began to decline in March and April of 2007. The IMF warned of risks to global financial markets. Bear Stearns was in trouble in June 2007 because of its mortgage-backed securities. In the summer of 2007 German banks were in trouble and foreclosures in the US almost doubled. In September 2007 there was a run on Northern Rock, which the British government nationalized, and the Fed began to drop interest rates to help the housing market. In January 2008, UBS reported $18 billion in write-downs due to US real estate exposure. In February, Fannie Mae reported a $3.55 billion loss.(25)

In March, however, the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department directed money towards the 85-year-old investment bank Bear Stearns, via JP Morgan(26) and $200 billion went to prop up Fannie Mae. By April the IMF projected $945 billion in losses. In June housing possessions doubled again, and the FBI announced the arrest of over 400 people charged with mortgage fraud, including two senior managers of the failed Bear Stearns Hedge Funds.(27) In July Congress passed the Foreclosures Prevention Act, which was a $33 billion hand-out to those who helped create the problem, according to a report by the Laborers' International Union of North America. Under the bill's little-publicized "carry-back" provision, builders would get billions in tax breaks and the 15 largest corporate homebuilders, who made $16 billion in profits on $100 billion in revenues, would receive a third of the benefits.(28)

In September 2008, the Fed, in an unprecedented move, lent $85 billion to the American International Group (AIG), the nation’s largest insurance company, which also handled credit default swaps and suffered losses from its subprime mortgage-backed securities holdings.(29) Then Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy, and Bank of America devoured Merrill Lynch. Soon there was a run on money market funds, and short selling of financial stocks was suspended globally. Bush made a speech acknowledging that there was a serious crisis, and backed Paulson’s bailout plea.

There were only a few voices in Congress that dared to challenge the current bailout of the speculators so intimately involved in created the current financial crisis. Anyone could look up Henry Paulson on the internet to discover his ties to Goldman Sachs, but these ties were not emphasized in the mainstream media. According to Wikipedia notes:

“Paulson was Staff Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon from 1970 to 1972… He joined Goldman Sachs in 1974… He became a partner in 1982. From 1983 until 1988, Paulson led the Investment Banking group for the Midwest Region, and became managing partner of the Chicago office in 1988. From 1990 to November 1994, he was co-head of Investment Banking, then, Chief Operating Officer from December 1994 to June 1998; eventually succeeding Jon Corzine (now Governor of New Jersey) as its chief executive. His compensation package, according to reports, was US$37 million in 2005, and US$16.4 million projected for 2006. His net worth has been estimated at over US$700 million. Paulson has personally built close relations with China during his career. In July 2008 it was reported by The Daily Telegraph that: "Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson has intimate relations with the Chinese elite, dating from his days at Goldman Sachs when he visited the country more than 70 times. …

“There is increasing evidence that Paulson was influential with two U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairmen, William H. Donaldson and Christopher Cox, in receiving restraint in the Commission's exercise of oversight requirements. In 2004…the Commission agreed unanimously to release the major investment houses from the net capital rule, the requirement that their brokerages hold reserve capital that limited their leverage and risk exposure. The complaint that was put forth by the investment banks was of increasingly onerous regulatory requirements—in this case, not U.S. regulator oversight, but European Union regulation of the foreign operations of US investment groups. In the immediate lead-up to the decision, EU regulators also acceded to US pressure, and agreed not to scrutinize foreign firms' reserve holdings if the SEC agreed to do so instead. The 1999 Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, however, put the parent holding company of each of the big American brokerages beyond SEC oversight. In order for the agreement to go ahead, the investment banks lobbied for a decision that would allow "voluntary" inspection of their parent and subsidiary holdings by the SEC.

“During this repeal of the net capital rule, SEC Chairman Donaldson agreed to the establishment of a risk management office that would monitor signs of future problems. This office was eventually dismantled by Chairman Cox, after discussions with Paulson. According to the New York Times, ’While other financial regulatory agencies criticized a blueprint by Mr. Paulson, the [new] Treasury secretary, that proposed to reduce their stature — and that of the S.E.C. — Mr. Cox did not challenge the plan, leaving it to three former Democratic and Republican commission chairmen to complain that the blueprint would neuter the agency.’ Only in late September 2008, Chairman Cox and the other Commissioners agreed to end the 2004 program of voluntary regulation.”

With the unregulated credit default swaps posing enormous liabilities to the financial institutions that dwarf the global economy, Paulson’s allegiances to Goldman Sachs and AIG will help determine which institutions will fail—or escape, survive, and profit—in the current turmoil.(30) & (30B)

Henry Paulson asked for and received over $700 billion in taxpayer money with little or no oversight as to who will actually get the money. It is clear that it won’t be going to Main Street, and it is more than likely to go to Paulson’s Wall Street and foreign friends.

Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur spoke out bravely against the bill, explaining precisely how it was being rushed through Congress(31) , and Dennis Kucinich condemned it as well. Their token resistance was swept aside, even as Representative Brad Sherman pointed out the fear mongering and panic pressure placed on Congress to push it through.(32) The fear that was generated by insiders and the media, as well as some token pork, helped to get the bill passed on Friday, October 3, 2008. Democrats, Republicans, and both presidential hopefuls were behind the bailout.

Amongst Obama’s advisers are Franklin Raines, who was a chairman and chief executive officer at Fannie Mae; and Tim Howard, who was the chief financial officer of Fannie Mae; and Jim Johnson, who was an executive at Lehman Brothers and later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Howard was forced to retire when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. The books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years, and Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion. The Government filed suit against Raines and Howard when the scandal became clear(33). The court ordered Raines to return $50 million he received in bonuses based on the misstated Fannie Mae profits. The government investigation determined that "Chief Financial Officer Tim Howard failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie Mae." Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's golden parachute was estimated at $20 million. Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 million in benefits. A look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae reveals that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million." Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae. Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.(34)

Any close scrutiny of the financial ties of major politicians—particularly those in office such as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Pelosi, and Feinstein—reveal major conflicts of interest between the politicians and the military, oil, and pharmaceutical industries. At the highest levels, however, there is no accountability. Laws are meaningless to these people. They have the power and influence to pass murderous legislation that enriches and empowers them and their cronies and threatens and impoverishes the rest of us, all of this veiled by a subservient corporate press that bestows upon them an aura of legitimacy. Within government agencies there is corruption, fraud, and the persecution—rather than protection—of whistle-blowers.

When Congress voted $87 billion to occupy Afghanistan and Iraq, some of that money was earmarked to suppress dissent in the US. In 2003, thousands of protestors gathered in Miami to oppose the negotiations of the Free Trade Area of the Americas. Pre-emptive arrests, violent violation of civil rights, brutal treatment of innocent medics, and criminalization of dissent became known as “the Miami model.” The militarization of the police and Homeland Security’s targeting of anti-war and peace activists have continued and expanded since then—as seen most recently in the protests at the Democratic and Republican Conventions where even the regular press was arrested, and organizers were arrested and charged with “terrorism.”

There is a battle going on—a clash of worldviews over what is true, legal, and moral; over who is a terrorist, and who is serving humanity; over who has the right to live, and who has the right or duty to jail, kill, or torture anyone. Every individual will have to decide for themselves what is true and what is legitimate—what is best for themselves, their families, their country, and the whole planet.

The strategy of all social movements is to convince the public that a problem exists and that policies must be changed, and to exercise the people power that resides within themselves into a force that finds solutions to commonly recognized problems.

The perpetrators of 9/11 had a different strategy. Their strategy was to terrify the American people into silence and submission, then bully the Congress into nearly unlimited funding for war and a greatly expanded surveillance industry. The perpetrators of 9/11 used a BIG LIE to sell a “bogus protection racket” to their victims—to institutionalize under the guise of “National/Homeland Security” a greater concentration of wealth and power into fewer hands. Their tools were violence, fear, criminal fraud, manipulating the financial markets, and selling it all to the American people through the megaphone of the mainstream media.

Cheney, like Napoleon, believes that you don’t have to suppress a truth—just delay it until it no longer matters. There are a growing number of people who are challenging the lies, especially through the Internet. It is apparent that those in power are very much afraid of the Internet, of people’s ability to share information and communicate so that they can organize in unprecedented ways using emerging technologies, or simply gather together in a public space where free speech is still possible.

The deeply held values, symbols, beliefs, sensibilities and traditions that are important to the public are being violated today by the power elite. The majority of people are against the war, torture, and the bailout of Wall Street. Those in power depend on the public to be stupid, uninformed, disengaged, apathetic, cynical, powerless, and silent. Social movements are dependent on empowered, engaged, informed people at every level of society to uphold the values and principles that are being violated by powerholders and their policies. Will the American people continue to wake up and begin to exercise more control over the US government to force changes in policy?

A major cause of social problems is the concentration of political, economic, and military power in the hands of relatively few people. An informed, empowered, and politicized population is required to resolve today’s problems and to establish a just, peaceful, sustainable world for all. Political and economic power ultimately rests with the majority population; rulers can only rule with the consent and acquiescence of the people. Where people put their time, energy, and money has a greater impact on society and the world than who they vote for. Elections have been stolen for decades; only an awakened citizenry can oversee and ensure honest elections.

The most important issue is the age-old struggle between the majority of people and the individual and institutional powerholders to determine whether society will be based on the authoritarian model—where power flows from the top down—or the “people power” model of genuine participatory democracy.

Kevin Barrett expressed the following in a talk entitled “A Folklorist Looks at 9/11 ‘Conspiracy Theories’” (folk meaning “the people,” as opposed to the “rulers and the press” who in the past have authoritatively defined “event/reality”):

“Marshall McLuhan’s famous line “the medium is the message” could describe the way the 9/11 Truth movement is an artifact of the Internet, and the radically-enhanced folk-communications it has brought. Thanks to digital audiovisuals, email and the world-wide web, the folk are now a leg up on their would-be manipulators, those well-paid professionals in corporate media, public relations, marketing, and psychological warfare or psy-ops, whose collective job is to reify and manipulate their fellow human beings.

“It is one thing for the content of informal, non-institutional, “folk” communication to subvert institutional authority. It is another and more significant thing for the very medium of folk communication to radically shift in a way that empowers the folk and disempowers the institutions. And that is what has happened. The world has been turned upside-down as the old oral-transmission grapevine has gone digital…

“Today’s digitally-enhanced subversives and skeptics can spread large numbers of copies of audio, video and photographic evidence, along with an unlimited amount of writing, for pennies. This digital awakening may turn out to be our second post-Gutenberg revolution in half a century. Its importance may rival the emergence of writing, which created hierarchical societies of kings, priests and scribes; with the invention of the printing press, which created the kind of mass-literate societies we call “democratic”; and with the invention of television, which McLuhan suggests created a global village of creeping Orwellian fascism. 9/11, in this view, was the last gasp of television as a means of mind-control via mass hypnosis, while the 9/11 Truth controversies may represent the birth pangs of the new, digitally-enhanced democracy.”

It is sobering to know that if the world’s population was reduced to 100 representatives, only 1 would have a computer, or have attended college, and he would have more wealth than all the others and be from the United States. While 70 percent of American homes may have access to the Internet, they are not representative of the world. However, an enlightened American people would be a grave danger to the advancement of the American Empire. We are uniquely responsible and able to thwart or advance the aspirations of the US oligarchy. We are also directly under attack by that oligarchy, who view us as a threat and are trying to criminalize dissent.

The financial crisis that faces America and the world today was as orchestrated as the events of 9/11. Similar to what transpired after 9/11, it is likely that the financial crisis will be used to further concentrate wealth and power, crush dissent, criminalize larger and larger numbers of people, trash civil liberties, and generally replace the “rule of law” with the “rule of fear.”

There is another possibility, however, which we the people can promote. We can join together to speak up, organize, and challenge the lies, crimes, and illegitimacy of the powerholders and corporations that threaten the well-being of the people of the world. We can create and nurture new organizations to fulfill real needs and aspirations. This is already taking place and can be seen in the rise of nonprofit organizations over the past decade. Ignored by the corporate media, Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader have raised key issues that the corporate-anointed candidates won’t discuss. The public must search the Internet for the statements of these courageous challengers to the oligarchy, because their views are ignored, marginalized, or dismissed in the corporate press—but they nonetheless provide a rallying cry for people looking for true change. At a recent press conference, the third-party candidates clearly represented majority opinions and interests, far better than McCain or Obama.(35)

Repression, reform, revolution or renaissance?

When revolutions occur simultaneously in many different areas, the transformation of society can be called a renaissance. We are witnessing changes happening at a rapid pace in a multitude of areas, and few can begin to keep up with the new technologies and research. As traditional power structures are threatened, new possibilities and synergies are emerging. If the traditional banking system or the dollar collapses, money will be reinvented at the local, regional, national, and probably international levels.

Mike Nickerson, author of Life, Money, & Illusion: Living on Earth as If We Want to Stay, wrote:

“An alternative to panicking when GDP stops growing is to view it as a sign of maturity. Human activity cannot expand forever on our finite planet. Fuel prices, climate change and the sub-prime mortgage crisis are all symptoms of one cause. When we stopped growing as individuals, it was not the end of the world. Indeed, for most of us, life had scarcely begun before physical maturity. Even as physical growth ended, we became better informed, more comfortable in ourselves and we developed the skills and relationships that define our lives. The same can be true for civilization.”

The convergence of various crises—including the financial system, peak oil, climate change, population growth, resource depletion, and mass extinctions—is forcing humanity to collectively recognize its limits and mature as a species, simply to survive.(37)

In order to behave maturely, wisely, and responsibly—and to make wise rational decisions—people need to know what is true, what is real.

Mike Nickerson has been championing the Genuine Progress Index to provide more accurate information about how people are affecting the planet and one another. If economic indicators were aligned with universal values such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, economists would ignore the marketplace and concern themselves with the health and well-being of the environment, the health and well-being of every person, and whether the basic human needs for food, water, shelter, clothing, and education were being met.

One of the heftiest charges against members of the Bush Administration is their attack upon science.(38) There is ample evidence that they have ordered agencies to be silent about their findings, or to fudge data to suit political purposes and shape public opinion. Only Bush science, as exemplified in the NIST report, could explain the collapse of all three World Trade Center buildings at free-fall speed as due to fire alone. Hundreds of independent scientists, architects, and engineers have rejected the conclusions of the NIST report. The scientific evidence indicates that two planes could not have shredded three steel-framed buildings, but that controlled demolition does explain their rapid disintegration.

It is increasingly challenging to evaluate scientific studies without knowing who has funded them, and for what particular purpose. Researchers whose findings challenge government or corporate objectives are vilified and lose their funding. Citizen-supported scientific research and data collection whose intention and purpose is clearly in the interests of the health and well-being of people and their environment—whose data can be shared, checked, verified, and corroborated by others in a transparent manner—will ultimately gain the widest acceptance.

Satyagraha, "soul force" or “the force of truth,” pioneered by Gandhi, has inspired the social movements of today. According to Schopenhauer, “All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.”

The individual and human journey also passes through stages. As proposed by Abraham Maslow in his classic study Toward a Psychology of Being, healthy people outgrow the self-centered need for material acquisition and find greater joy and purpose in more expansive activities—such as developing friendships, being of service to others, expressing creativity, and joining together with others to solve problems.

The deliberate infantilization of the public and the manipulation of the public mind has contributed to the current crisis in values, where people seem to be concerned only for themselves and are cynical about what is happening in the world.

The cure lies in the maturation of our species. The times that we live in are calling to us to grow up, individually and collectively. We need to develop a greater understanding of ourselves and our world, to develop our talents and skills to make this a better world. Despite the dangers and challenges of the time we live in, we can find meaning and joy through joining together in the search for truth, peace, justice, and, freedom.

As Gandhi and others have demonstrated, the truth, combined with love and compassion, will set us free. As we work together to pursue the truth and expand our awareness, we are lifting the veil and awakening from a media-induced trance so that we can more clearly see how we have allowed our power to be taken from us. This knowledge will empower us to reform the outmoded structures that are so oppressive and to create new systems that truly serve the needs of the people and the planet for current and future generations.

Mike Nickerson is the author of Life, Money & Illusion- Living on Earth as if we want to stay. He first encountered "sustainability" as a co-director of the Institute for the Study of Cultural Evolution. The organization's study of the aspirations and concerns of citizens' groups culminated in 1974 with the point form summary, now known as the Guideposts for a Sustainable Future. The background detail of the study was published in 1977 under the title Change the World I Want to Stay On. In 1990 Mr. Nickerson completed production of the Guideposts for a Sustainable Future video along with an accompanying workshop kit. In 1993 his second book- Planning for Seven Generations was published in paperback.

Currently Mike coordinates the Sustainability Project and an initiative to establish a Genuine Progress Index for Canada. He lives near the village of Lanark, Ontario and supports his interest in cultural evolution doing custom woodwork. He would like to spend more time growing things.

A Silver Lining to the Economic Downturn

An alternative to panicking when GDP stops growing is to view it as a sign of maturity.

Human activity cannot expand forever on our finite planet. An economy growing at 3% a year doubles its size every 24 years. Centuries of such growth have brought us to a mature size. As with individual maturity, there comes a time for societies to stop growing and to take responsibly for their strength and impacts on others.

As a mature species, we have two responsibilities to Earth and ultimately, to ourselves. The first is to live within the availability of natural resources. Global production of oil has stalled for three years at about 85 million barrels a day, yet demand continues to increase. This results in rising prices. The increased cost is reminding us all about how dependent we are on this particular resource.

While fossil fuels are a well-known resource issue, there is also cause for concern with fresh water, forests, fish, soil fertility and other resources.

Our second responsibility is to keep our waste within tolerable bounds. Climate change is a direct result of human activity having grown to where our C02 emissions are overwhelming the ability of oceans and forests to absorb it, leaving it to accumulate in the atmosphere. What is the logic of policies aimed at doubling our size, when current activities, at the present population level, have already brought us to the edge of climate chaos?

Climate change is not the only issue related to tolerance. Respiratory problems, many cancers and other illnesses, which result from the accumulation of manufactured toxins, are also wake up calls.

The sub-prime mortgage crisis rivals the price of fuel and climate change in terms of public concern. It too can be linked to confrontation with planetary limits.

Over the centuries, the expansion of our growth-dependent type of monetary system has inflated it to gargantuan proportions. In North America, to accomplish 3% growth, over four hundred billion dollars in new business has to take place in the present year. This is over and above the fifteen trillion dollars worth of transactions already taking place. Large amounts of new money has to be loaned into existence to accommodate this expansion.

Before humans filled the Earth, there were areas of untapped natural resources, from which we could produce things of tangible value that people were willing and able to pay for - businesses, houses, tools, food and the like - to back up an exponentially expanding money supply. By the 1980s, it was becoming increasingly difficult to produce enough real wealth to do the job. Following "junk bonds," and the DotCom bubble, bidding up real estate became a primary means for expanding the money supply. When that bubble threatened to burst after 9/11, interest rates were dropped to almost nothing and mortgages were offered to people with no down payments and little credit worthiness. At hundreds of thousands of dollars each, great quantities of money were loaned into circulation. It appeared to work, until energy driven inflation prompted interest rate increases that many sub-prime mortgage holders were unable to pay.

These problems indicate that the time has come for a fundamental change. Fuel prices, climate change and the sub-prime mortgage crisis are all symptoms of one cause. They will not effectively be resolved until the fact that human activity has grown to stretch planetary limits is addressed. We cannot grow out of problems that result from our size.

Even as physical growth ended, we became better informed, more comfortable in ourselves and we developed the skills and relationships that define our lives. The same can be true for civilization.

Among the first things societies can do, as we acknowledge our maturity, is to shift investment into education and health care. Unlike cars and expanding highway networks, which are resource and waste intensive, education and health care (particularly care at the preventative level) consist almost entirely of knowledge and good will.

Another step will be to revive local, small-scale agriculture. Food produced in this way requires less fuel and other natural resources and has been shown to produce more food per acre, of a higher nutritional quality, than industrial scale farming.

Investing in education, health care and local food security makes sense, if what we want is a healthy, well fed, educated population. With the present commitment to make money grow, however, such goals appear self-serving. Our advanced size requires that all our efforts be focused on monetary expansion.

Do we want to grow money or food? As long as our goal is defined as making the GDP grow, efficiency will be measured entirely in terms of what makes the most money. Even though industrial agriculture produces less food per acre, than small-scale local framing, it does produce a greater crop of investment capital. Money borrowed for heavy equipment, fuel, pesticides and fertilizer earns interest and, driven by payment schedules, stimulates efforts to maximize financial return. Local farming, on the other hand, contributes relatively little to the immediate need of expanding capital. It tends to put money into the pockets of farmers who, rather than investing it, are more likely to buy food, shelter and education for their children.

When industrialization began, it was recognized that mechanized, mass production could provide products at a fraction of the cost of hand-made goods. The main obstacle to applying the industrial process to all manner of goods was a shortage of capital. Because it costs a lot of up-front money to build an industry, our system of mutual provision (the economy) was designed to encourage the expansion of capital. However, now that the world is awash in so much capital that, a continuous stream of speculative bubbles is necessary to give it places to invest, it is time for another goal.

As we mature as a society, the things that indicate well-being change. Measuring how much a baby grows is a good measure of its health; it is not an effective way to measure the well-being of an adult. If we want to resolve today's multiple crises, we need more detailed information.

At present, if there is a natural disaster, toxic spill or a health epidemic, the costs of dealing with the problems are added to the GDP, giving the false impression that we are better off. While more money might be flowing, life is degraded by such things. If we were to measure social and environmental factors of well-being with the same authority and enthusiasm with which we measure GDP, much of the confusion would be avoided. A Genuine Progress Index (GPI) would provide a broader spectrum of information, enabling the costs and benefits of different activities to be assessed with greater accuracy. Along with the traditional economic indicators, accounts about air quality and health issues, for example, would reveal that the hundreds of millions of dollars spent annually on medicine to relieve respiratory suffering is more a sign of distress than of economic progress.

A legitimized indicator that shows whether social and environmental factors are improving or deteriorating would create the awareness needed to stimulate serious actions toward solving the problems.

By identifying resource draw-down, pollution, and disruptions to communities, with a GPI, external factors would enter the picture. Presently externalized costs are not included in the price of goods. When such costs are added to production costs, those goods that are socially and environmentally friendly would be less expensive and those that cause problems would cost more. Both consumers and producers would then be inclined toward responsible products.

Taking the additional step of shifting the skill, ingenuity and persuasive effort that is presently applied toward engineering obsolescence, and, instead, using it to design durable, easily repaired goods, and to reclaim pride in objects that have long served us, could cut up to 50% off of our material and energy consumption and consequent impacts.

One final shift - from looking for fulfillment in material goods, to seeking it in friendships, knowledge, appreciation, service, music, art, sport and adventure - would complete the transformation. Coupled with environmentally responsible agriculture, such a change could reduce our impacts to practically nothing. That is, the real costs of maintaining well-being for humans, in terms of the ability of Earth to sustain life over time, would be negligible.

By finding satisfaction in the richness of being human, we could change the image of our species from that of a potentially terminal blight on the Earth, to something much more suiting to our position amidst the life of this planet. As a mature species, we could reward three billion years of evolution by adding laughter, love, awe and wonder to a deep appreciation for the incredible accomplishments by which life has brought us to this point.

While arguments persist about oil supplies, climate change and the possibility of perpetual economic expansion, we are well advised to acknowledge the ultimate finiteness of Earth and accept responsibility. Policies intent on expanding until the last possible moment will almost certainly be followed by disaster.

Human ingenuity is more than sufficient to provide food, shelter and other necessities without having to double the total of all our activities every 24 years. It is a Question of Direction. We need to choose between the goal of perpetual growth and that of long-term well-being.

We celebrate when our children grow. If an adult continues to grow like a child, however, it is cause for serious concern. Developing a healthy steady-state economy is no more frightening than the prospect of becoming adult is for a teenager. The silver lining to this economic downturn is the opportunity it offers to grow up and take responsibility for our impacts. It can be done.

With the financial system in crisis, it is not time to panic, but to realize that we need to recognize the systemic problems that we face and redesign that system so that it serves rather than threatens life.

Nicholas Levis one of the earliest 9/11 Truth pioneers, Nicholas organized the first major 9/11 Truth Conferences in Berlin, and was a founder and webmaster of one of the first 9/11 Truth websites.

He moved to New York and was involved with the New York group, and flew out to California to help with the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9/11 and then back to New York to help organize the New York Confronting The Evidence: 9/11 and the Search for Truth September 11th 2004 event. He also worked on the film- Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime with John Albanese.

Nicholas has been working as a translator (German to English), editor, reporter, researcher, copywriter, project manager, interpreter, language teacher and consultant for clients in publishing, media, business, industry, finance, government, academia, health care and the arts. His invaluable, unpaid contributions to the movement have rarely been publicly acknowledged.

Nicholas and I will be looking at the 9/11 Truth Movement and its evolution over the years, the missed chances, botched opportunities, surprising successes, growth, where we are now, and strategically what we can do, now, at this moment in time, where the focus, message might have the most impact and bear the most fruit.

Du Bois, Che Guevara, Kwame Nkrumah, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Rigoberta Menchu, and Hugo Chavez to mention only a few. In his sweeping and original interpretation, Halls weaves together a narrative of hope extending from the Royal Proclamation of 1763 to the Atlantic Charter of 1941 to the founding at Bandung Indonesia of the Non-Aligned Movement. Hall advances a conception of Aboriginal history that gives all-important historical context to the extensions of the Indian wars in the global resource grabs currently conducted in the name of the bogus War on Terror.

Anthony J. Hall's Earth into Property picks up where Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine leaves off. As Hall demonstrates, the spread of "disaster capitalism" has been going on for centuries, not mere decades, on those resource frontiers where Indigenous peoples have been exterminated, dispossessed, and subjugated in the name of earlier versions of the War on Terror.

Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Lt. Col., USAF, ret. is President of the Institute for Space and Security Studies, Executive Vice President of Millennium III Corporation, and retired Presiding Archbishop of the United Catholic Church. The recipient of the Eisenhower Medal, the George F. Kennan Peace Prize, the President's Medal of Veterans for Peace, the Republic Aviation Airpower Award, the Society of American Military Engineers' ROTC Medal of Merit (twice), the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous other awards, he is one of the country's foremost authorities on national security.

Colonel Bowman flew 101 combat missions as a fighter pilot in Vietnam and directed all the DoD “Star Wars” programs under presidents Ford and Carter. He has been an executive in both government and industry, and has chaired 8 major international conferences. Professor Bowman taught at 5 colleges and universities, serving as Department Head and Assistant Dean. His Ph.D. is in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering from Caltech. He has lectured at the National War College, the United Nations, Congressional Caucuses, the Academies of Science of six nations, and the House of Lords.

Dr. Bob Bowman ran for President in the Reform Party in 2000 and was the Democratic candidate for the US Congress from the 15th Congressional District of Florida in 2006. Bob and his wife of 51 years, Maggie, have 7 children and 21 grandchildren. He is currently on tour. Information about his organization- The Patriots and his schedule are posted on his website. He is in California, now and just spoke at a gathering with people from the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance, Santa Cruz and Paul Zarembka.

Michael Maxwell has had many experiences as a Senior Military Officer at the Pentagon Headquarters, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, at the White House, at top-secret laboratories, in combat crew training, NATO activities in Europe, the US Congress, and elsewhere doing strategic decision-making analysis, technology forecasting, corporate marketing.

He has also worked with public interest groups [eg. Nader's Raiders] seeking to improve the integrity, efficient performance, and eco-wisdom future planning of Government and other institutions. He writes Screenplays, Novels, and a Column for smart, caring, brave, and intelligently fully informed readers and fellow citizens.

He is a founder of The REALLY SMART THINKING Foundation and Projects --- to significantly improve the USA's National Dialogues and some Global consensus items before it is too late.

Both men have had experience within the military which allow them to see 9/11 critically, and see through the cover story.

We will be discussing 9/11 and given their unique perspective into the functioning of the White House and the military, how the operation could have been carried out, the challenges of the moment, and where do we go from here.

Janice Matthews is the Executive Director of 911Truth.org. Janice was their outreach coordinator until September, 2005 when she became executive director. She is also co-founder of the now-archived 9/11 Visibility Project, and focuses on facilitating activism and encouraging ordinary people to become participants and leaders in their own lives and communities. She has a B.A. from the University of Kansas, half a masters in social welfare and extensive training in direct-entry midwifery. Janice is outraged about issues facing military troops and veterans-- abuse/rape, 'depleted' uranium, 'immunizations,' lack of care and support received--resulting in suicides and hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans, the horrifying 'non-lethal' weaponry used by the US, and our current mainstream media (please, "become the media"!)and believes decentralized people's movements are our hope for successful, nonviolent change in America, as has so often been the case around the world.

Mike Berger is the Media Coordinator for 911Truth.org. Mike earned a degree in Sociology with a focus on human motivation, currently calls St. Louis home, is married, and owns a plastic recycling company and video production company. Born and raised in New York about 20 minutes from Manhattan, he enjoyed visiting Manhattan to watch the building of the World Trade Center complex. On September 11th, with family living and working in lower Manhattan, his cousin actually saw the first plane fly over his head while walking his dog. More than 14 months passed before Mike began to question the official story. Denial turned into curiosity after reading about significant purchases of put options on American and United airlines and several companies that occupied large portions of the WTC Towers, implying that identifiable parties may have profited from foreknowledge of the attacks. He began researching the critical issues surrounding the failure of government officials to perform their sworn duties and defend us from attack. After all, according to George Tenet, "the system was blinking red." What went wrong? Why were we so unprepared for the attacks in light of numerous, documented, specific warnings? Why have we not held a single person accountable at any level, considering the magnitude of these failures? More than two years of investigation resulted in a series of documentaries currently in production. The first, Improbable Collapse: The Demolition of Our Republic, examines how three steel-framed buildings collapsed on 9/11 when no steel framed building had ever collapsed from fire previously. Ever.

Erik Lawyeris the founding member of FirefightersFor911Truth.org. He is currently a full time firefighter, assigned to 3 Truck in the City of Seattle for the last 12 years. Before that he was with the City of Sacramento as a Firefighter Paramedic. He first began working in Emergency Services in 1988 in the Sacramento area with a 911 private paramedic ambulance company. He has 20 years experience in Emergency Services. He earned my pilot's license in 1987, and have been recreationally flying since. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from the University of California at Davis in 1993, with 2 years of elective Engineering courses, and a Minor in Psychology.

Erik wrote a moving account of his own shift in consciousness regarding 9/11 which prompted him to start Fire Fighters For 9/11 Truth entitled MAYDAY...MAYDAY...MAYDAY. Here's an excerpt:

I, like most Americans, remember exactly where I was when I saw the attacks and had the overwhelming urge to take action. I was shocked, outraged, scared and confused. I called my Battalion Chief and asked if Seattle would be sending any teams to help. I was a member of the MMST, and figured we would be needed and I wanted to know where to report. Due to the nature of the incident we were not called up, and instead USAR teams, including Seattle's, were sent.

I first visited Ground Zero in October of 2001 with several firefighters from Seattle. We went to pay our respect and show support. We raised money for our brother firehouses and attended the funerals of our fallen Brothers. I was deeply moved and humbled by the community support, the sheer enormity of the tragedy along with the courage and compassion of the FDNY "Brotherhood." Even though I listened to their stories for days, I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and tragedy they suffered on that day and the years to come. I vividly remember the anger I felt, the intense desire for vengeance, and the feelings of helplessness. I was relieved when the government identified the terrorists and satisfied that we were going to have a swift deliverance of "justice."

I've been a conservative my entire life; a registered Republican since I could vote. I am a self proclaimed Patriot with George Washington as one of my all time heroes. So when conspiracy theories quickly surfaced, and "Liberals" cried foul on the erosion of civil liberties, I chalked it up to their political beliefs and bitterness towards the Republican President. I read many debunking articles - including Popular Mechanics - and watched many debunking videos including, Farenhype 9/11. I was convinced that these "Liberals" were misinformed and were grasping at straws to discredit the "official" story. Like most people with strong opinions, instead of looking at all the facts, I was specifically looking for anything that supported my own beliefs. As soon as I discovered any inaccuracy in a conspiracy claim, I wrote it off. My father, a big city cop and Korean War veteran, loved to say, "don't confuse me with the facts, I have my mind made up!" Well, I had my mind made up. I told conspiracy theorists like my own Truck Officer, Lt. Earl Emerson, that they were insane if they thought anyone other than the terrorists did this. Heck, we have ID cards, security camera videos, Bin Laden confession tapes - how much clearer did they need it? The years went on and I was satisfied in my beliefs. I even believed these "Wackos" that doubted the "official" story were distracting our country from focusing on the real threat of terrorism...

Fast forward to March of 2008. A great friend of mine with a Business degree from West Point, as conservative and non-conspiratorial as they get, came over one night to talk about what he saw happening in the economy. He provided some disconcerting evidence that we as a nation are at risk of entering into another depression; he pointed out historical parallels where other countries, such as Germany, suffered economic collapse. THAT was my eye opener. I became obsessed researching things such as economies, who is in control of currencies, what causes depressions, who profits during war, etc. So many things kept pointing to 9/11. Another one of my dad's favorite quotes was, "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear." So, I looked at both sides and quickly noticed a pattern. On one side, the general media ignores some of the most compelling evidence that contradicts the "official" story...

When I voiced my new opinion and concerns most of my friends listened. I think because they were shocked that a staunch Conservative could have such a major shift, or because they thought I had lost my mind and wanted to diagnose the cause. Curiously, some became angry at my new questions and actually thought I was supporting Terrorists with my concerns. Being a part of that same mindset myself only a few weeks ago, and then having a major shift in consciousness, really shook me to the core. What has happened to our collective consciousness that we believe anyone who doubts the "official" story or what the government tells us is an enemy? Anyone who asks for the Truth is labeled a "Wacko" or "Terrorist Sympathizer?" What has happened to us? Are we not founded on Freedom of Speech and taught to check our Government?...

To be honest, I was asleep at the wheel, and relied on what I was being told by mainstream media. The same media whose parent corporations, are some of the largest suppliers of weapons in this war. Before this "awakening" I had no idea the extent of our civil liberties that had been eroded in the name of Terrorism. I had never really wrapped my brain around what legalized torture means. I had always claimed America was noble. Just look at how we treated POW's during WWII and Vietnam compared to our enemies. That separated us. We were setting the example of Human Rights to the rest of the world. Sure, you'll always have individuals that will take things too far, but Government sponsored torture? What has happened to our country? What kind of example are we setting for our children, and the world? You would be interested to learn how many of our own rights have been stripped away recently. Look up the Military Commissions Act of 2006, John Warner Defense Authorization Act, Homegrown Terrorism Act, Presidential Directive 51. It is amazing the rights we have all lost in the past couple of years and very little is covered by the U.S. media.

After discovering this, I applied the "common sense" test that my Grandfather always said wasn't so common. Why would a government so aggressively suppress truth and blatantly destroy evidence if there was nothing to hide? Why has every testimony from sworn government and military officials that points to "prior knowledge" been stricken from the 9/11 Commission Report? How did paper business cards, cloth bandanas, and plastic ID's that implicate the terrorists survive so neatly through jet fueled fireballs hot enough to destroy titanium and steel? I've seen bodies burned beyond recognition, yet I have never found one that was wearing unburned clothing. These questions alone are enough to make me risk everything for a real investigation and accounting...

When I truly realized the enormity of the effect 9/11 has had on our Rights, our Economy, our Beliefs, our Fears, our Intolerances and our Government - I felt fear, then anger, then the need to take action. Bill Chickering said it best, "Anger is a very appropriate and necessary response to an injustice. But stand back now; the truth, clearly spoken, is always your best weapon. Calmly spoken, it can burn a hole through the hardest heart." When I realized the extent of the force and attitudes working to silence those who peacefully ask questions, demand answers, and seek truth, it became clear to me that our Country is in serious trouble and I must now stand alongside those Patriots who seek Truth and Constitutional Restoration.

Richard Gage, AIA is the founding member of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (ae911Truth.org). He has been a practicing Architect for 20 years and has worked on most types of building construction including numerous fire-proofed steel-framed buildings. He is employed with a San Francisco Bay Area architecture firm and has most recently performed Construction Administration services for a new $120M High School campus including a $10M steel-framed Gymnasium. Currently he is working on the Design Development for a very large mixed use urban project with 1.2M sq.ft. of retail and 320K sq.ft. of mid-rise office space — altogether about 1,200 tons of steel framing.

He has been one of the most tireless speakers on the issue of 9/11 truth, and more specifically on challenging the official narrative of the disintegration of the 3 major skyscrapers in the World Trade Center complex that took place on September 11th. He has been lecturing widely across the US and in Canada. Those who see his presentation rarely walk away still thinking that fires alone could have brought down the buildings.

When NIST came out with a report recently that fires were responsible for the destruction of WTC7, Richard and Architects and Engineers were quick to challenge that report. (See NY Times quotes Richard Gage on WTC7 "collapse"). Gage will be speaking at the 7th Annual 9/11 Truth Rally/March in San Francisco, September 6th and at the 4th Annual 9/11 Film Festival in Oakland, September 11th and at the Now or Never 2008 9/11 First Responders Benefit in NYC September 12th.

We will be discussing the 9/11 Truth Movement, the Media, the current organizing that they are doing, and upcoming events on the 7th anniversary of the attacks.

Paul Zarembka is the editor of The HIDDEN HISTORY of 9/11. (Read a good review of the book by Tod Fletcher). Paul Zarembka, received his Phd. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a Professor of Economics at University of Buffalo, and has specialized in Marxist theory, labor history, and economic development.

He confronted Philip Zelikow questioning him about the identities of the 19 hijackers who protested their participation in the attacks, as well as the omission of the destruction of WTC7 from the Official Commission Report.

Julez Edward was born in the year 1983 in Ostend, West-Flandres, Belgium, together with Apple and Microsoft... He hate's the fact that politics and economy converted the art of being artist into the 'music industry.' In 2006, when no other Belgian 'artist' dared to openly criticize politics or economics (is there a difference?), he decided to become the difference. His music is available at his website- julez-edward.be/. He is one of two main organizers of the
United for Truth.org effort to unite Europe against war and capitalism that culminated last year in a march and rally in Brussels and is currently organizing another march and rally in Brussels on Sunday, September 7, 2008, again in Brussels. They say on the website:

In solidarity with the American citizens, we demand an independent investigation of the 9/11 attacks, which were the pretext for too many wars, lies, and a serious decrease of (y)our civil rights (“anti-terrorist”-acts, secret prisons, “Patriot act”, etc). We want European troops back home! We want European laws that guarantee neutrality of the internet and that explicitly forbid tracing/chipping (RFID) of human beings as well as other electronic threats on our freedom. We want democratic and public control of financial organizations (IMF, WB, etc) and the mass media. But most of all we want you to get your life back."

We never pretend to know or tell "what really happened on the 9/11". Until an independent investigation take place we shouldn't even claim it was an "inside job".

We want to break the wall of silence and the actual isolation of the so called "9-11 truth movement" in Europe when the majority of the US citizen do ask for that independent investigation.

We want to put the 9/11 in its context and link it to its consequences as 9/11 was a pretext to military wars against innocent people, political wars against freedom around the world and on the net, economical wars against the whole population and the planet itself.

Michael Pengue is the producer of the online film Montreal, Next Terror Target?, he is also a co-founder of the Montreal 9/11 Truth group- mtl911truth.org. He is a native of Montreal, first generation Canadian of Italian born parents.

Two years after the events of 9/11, his friend, Kenneth Fernandez, expressed a very strong suspicion that 9/11 was an inside-job. From 2003 he read books and articles by Michael Ruppert, David Griffin, Daniel Hopsicker, Sander Hicks, Michel Chossudovsky and watched countless documentaries. In 2004, he joined the Canadian Action Party and shortly after became a member of their executive team (until early 2008 when he resigned as vice-president only to continue as a member and supporter of CAP). At the International Citizens’ Inquiry into 9/11 in Toronto, he met Ruppert and others and that drove him to be more active. Just a few weeks later his picture made it in the Montreal Gazette standing in front of the Montreal's Imperial Theatre for the premiere of Michael Moore's film ''Fahrenheit 9/11''carrying a sandwich-board reading " 9/11 Was an Inside Job" and on the flip side "Fahrenheit 911 is Just the Tip of the Iceberg." He handed out countless leaflets to the large crowd waiting in line for the theater doors to open and to a sympathetic Gazette photographer.

In 2006, he organized his first 9/11 film screening in a Montreal conference hall. In the summer of 2007 he initiated the creation of The Montreal 9/11 Truth Website for the 1st 9/11 speaker event in Montreal when Webster Tarpley and Connie Fogal, leader of the Canadian Action Party, came to town to speak to a full house in downtown Montreal.

In early 2008, the release of their first documentary film entitled "Montreal, The Next Terror Target?" which he narrated and researched, and which generated an overwhelming response from people motivated to get involved.

From that point onward, in terms of regular participation, everything seemed to progressively get better for them. Since then they have been meeting on a weekly basis to work on their first 9/11 film screening at a university. In June of 2008, they had a full house at a conference with David Ray Griffin chaired by Michel Chossudovsky.

Kenneth Fernandez is a political consultant influenced by the political legacy of Pierre Elliott Trudeau. He has two law degrees from McGill University and an exceptional grasp of history and foreign affairs. He ran for the Canadian Action Party in the federal elections of 2000 and 2004 in the district of Saint-Laurent-Cartierville. He spoke at the 2004 Toronto Citizens’ Inquiry Into 9/11. He also did much of the research for the film "Montreal, The Next Terror Target?

Robert Lewis is a Montreal writer and filmmaker. He is the author of Gaj: The End of Religion (2004), a book on spiritual philosophy, and the director of the documentary Be Smile: The Stories of Two Urban Inuit(2006), which chronicles the lives of two Inuit men living homeless on the streets of Montreal. In 2007 he travelled to Ground Zero for the 9/11 anniversary to interview activists for his documentary short The Documentary of the 9/11 Truth Movement. For the past year, he has been very active with Montreal 9/11 Truth, and one of the main organizers of the March on Ottawa for 9/11 Truth in support of a Canadian 9/11 investigation, an event scheduled for 7 - 11 September 2008.

Drew Noftle is a co-founder of the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Society (vancouver911truth.org), was a chief organizer for the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference, and helped bring dozens of 9/11 researchers to Vancouver to speak at sold out events.

He is now helping to take 9/11 Truth across the country with the 2008 Truth Tour, and the March on Ottawa http://www.marchonottawa2008.org/. The goals: to unite the movement across the country and start the ground work in creating an independent Canadian investigation into 9/11.

In September of 2001, Drew Noftle was living in Vancouver Canada and had just finished his second year of Marketing Management in College. Tired of the slow life in Vancouver, Drew then decided to move down to San Francisco to meet up with some Canadian friends who were already there, and start anew. Then 9/11 happened.

In the days following 9/11, the Canadian US border was closed for the first time in history, and his plans to move south had to be aborted. Not understanding at all what had happened, and still discontent with life in Canada, he made a quick decision to move to China, and meet up with some friends in Dandong, Liaoning – the northeastern Chinese city that borders North Korea.

After living a few months there, he knew China was to become his new home. He traveled around a bit and eventually made Beijing his home, and spent the next three years studying Mandarin Chinese.

Then in winter 2005, His roommate forced him to watch an Alex Jones film. At the time Drew hated Alex Jones. There was nothing worse then coming home to some nutcase ranting on in a thick Texas accent about how he thinks the world works. Agreeing only to watch 5 minutes, his roommate showed him a clip of Building 7 from Martial Law. This clip literally blew him away. Not wanting to accept the fact of 9/11 being an inside Job, he then spent a few months studying online, and came to find out for himself what the War of Terror was really all about.

Drew returned to Vancouver in Oct 2006, and began to work with the existing network of 9/11 Truth activists. They are now a strong group and an inspiration to the growing global Truth Movement.

Les Jamieson, a leader in the New York 9/11 Truth Movement, active with ny911truth.org, gives an update on their efforts to carry forward the New York City Ballot Initiative, www.nyc911initiative.org. 27,000 signatures have been gathered, but they may not be able to meet this year's deadline, but the signatures will count towards getting it passed next year. With enough support, they still might be abl to pull it off this year, but they just have a little over two weeks, so they need people and money to assist them in winning over the public and collecting signatures. Tha campaign, itself has been a success in raising more awareness and support for a genuine investigation.

Kyle Hence played a leadership role in creating the 9/11 Truth Alliance back in 2002, and organizing one of the first educational events in DC in June 2002 on 9/11 and the Public Safety. He was involved with the production of three excellent documentaries- Aftermath- Unanswered Questions from 9/11, 9/11 Press for Truth, and In Their Own Words: The Untold Stories of the 9/11 Families. He was a founder of 9/11 Citizen's Watch, and helped get Representative Cynthia McKinney to chair the September 2004- 9/11 Citizens’ Commission Hearings in New York City and hold briefings for the Black Congressional Caucus in DC in July of 2005, entitled "The 9/11 Commission Report One Year Later - A Citizens’ Response – Did They Get It Right?"

We spoke about the 9/11 Truth Movement, Kyle's films, many aspects of 9/11, including the financial aspects, which Kyle continues to research. Acknowledging the growth of the movement, we also noted the challenges we've had to face, including the morass of conflicting information which makes it harder to discover the truth, the barriers posed by the media, the government, and our own human ability to organize ourselves, let alone cooperate and work together to build genuine political forces to challenge those which organized, staged and have used 9/11 to strengthen their grip on the country and the world.

Originally, I had counted on Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente to be on the show, but Cynthia couldn't stay awake for it, because she has to get up early tomorrow for a plane. I don't know why we couldn't reach Rosa, but when I organized the interview, her scheduler said that she had 200 press inquiries, so I am guessing that she was overwhwelmed and forgot- and the phone number that I was given to reach her was the wrong one, but I don't know. As a Green Party candidate, I know that the Green Party has its strengths and weaknesses; it is not wealthy, well organized, and communications within the Party and between the Party and the public remains a huge challenge.

Cynthia McKinney still is an inspiration to me. Kyle mentioned how she grilled Rumsfeld on the War Games that took place on September 11th and probed to find out about the trillions missing from the Pentagon.

A caller mentioned how Cynthia needed just a few more donations to qualify for Federal funding which would help her tremendously to launch a tour across the country with her message and reach out to young people with her hip-hop supporters.

We spoke about the failure of the 9/11 Commission, but its value in providing us with chronicled lies and omissions which help point the way to the avenues of research that need to be pursued. We agreed on the need for a new commission with subpoena power. Kyle spoke of the success of 9/11 Press for Truth (not financial, but in raising consciousness), nationally, around the world, and how he personally gave copies to members of Congress, including Senator Obama, and Senator Clinton.

John Bursill phoned from Australia to urge Cynthia and the Green Party's help at winning over the Australian Greens, and mentioned their upcoming 9/11 Truth events.

Another caller asked about the possibility of cancelling the elections and martial law.

Overall, I think our message to people is to show courage, and organize; we all need to face and overcome the obstacles in our paths, including members of Congress.

Rosa Alicia Clemente is a community organizer, journalist and Hip-Hop activist. Born and raised in the South Bronx she is a graduate of the University of Albany and Cornell University. A much sought after commentator, political activist, community organize and independent reporter, Rosa has been delivering workshops, presentations and commentary for over ten years.

Rosa's academic work has been dedicated to researching national liberation struggles inside the United States, with a specific focus on the Young Lords Party and the Black Liberation Army. While a student at SUNY Albany, she was President of the Albany State University Black Alliance (ASUBA) and Director of Multicultural Affairs for the Student Association. At Cornell she was a founding member of La Voz Boriken, a social/political organization dedicated to supporting Puerto Rican political prisoners and the independence of Puerto Rico.

Rosa has written for Clamor Magazine, The Ave. magazine, The Black World Today, The Final Call and numerous websites. She has been the subject of articles in the Village Voice, The New York Times, Urban Latino and The Source magazines. She has appeared on CNN, C-Span, Democracy Now and Street Soldiers. In 2001, she was a youth representative at the United Nations World Conference against Xenophobia, Racism and Related Intolerance in South Africa and in 2002 was named by Red Eye Magazine as one of the top 50 Hip Hop Activists to look out for. In 1995, she developed Know Thy Self Productions, a full service speakers bureau, production company and media consulting service. Seeing a need for young people of color to be heard and taken seriously she began presenting workshops and lectures at colleges, universities, high schools, and prisons. In the past ten years she has presented at over 200 colleges, conferences and community centers on topics such as; African-American and Latino/a Intercultural Relations; Hip-Hop Activism; The History of the Young Lords Party; and Women, Feminism and Hip Hop. KTSP now includes an expanded college speakers bureau which has produced three major Hip Hop activism tours, "Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win" with M1 of dead prez and Fred Hampton Jr.; "The ACLU College Freedom Tour" with dead prez, DJ Kuttin Kandi, Mystic and comedian Dave Chapelle; and the "Speak Truth to Power" Tour a collaborative tour of award winning youth activists.

In 2003, Rosa helped formed and coordinate the first ever National Hip Hop Political Convention that drew over 3000 activists who came together to create and implement a national political agenda for the Hip-Hop generation. 10 days after Hurricane Katrina ravaged parts of the south, Rosa traveled to the areas as an independent journalist and her on the ground reports were reported on independent radio stations all over the world, including Air America, NPR, Pacifica Radio, Democracy Now, Indy media, Hard Knock Radio and many more independent and mainstream media outlets.

In July 2008, at the Green Party Convention, Cynthia McKinney chose her as her vice-presidential running mate.

Green Party Presidential Candidate Cynthia Ann McKinney was Georgia's first African-American Congresswoman and the only woman serving in the state's congressional delegation. She emerged as an internationally renowned advocate for voting rights, human rights.

Congresswoman McKinney was appointmented to the powerful and prestigious Armed Services Committee. She was also a member of the International Relations Committee, serving as Ranking Member on its International Operations and Human Rights Subcommittee.

For five years, she was the House sponsor of the Arms Transfers Code of Conduct, which aimed to prevent the sale of US weapons to dictators, finally passed the House in June 1997.

She was elected secretary of the freshman class by her colleagues in the 103rd Congress and was the first freshman representative to head the Women's Caucus Task Force on Children, Youth and Families. She has served as vice president of the Democratic sophomore class. Congresswoman McKinney was also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Progressive Caucus and worked closely with the Hispanic Caucus.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 17, 1955, Cynthia currently lives in California. She earned a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Southern California in 1978. In 1984, Cynthia worked as a Diplomatic Fellow at Spellman College in Atlanta. She also taught political science at Clark Atlanta University and later at Agnes Scott College, a women's college in Decatur, Georgia. Before being elected to Congress, Cynthia served on the board of the HIV Health Services Planning Council of Metro Atlanta from 1991-92.

Cynthia is the daughter of veteran Georgia State Representative Billy McKinney and Leola McKinney, a nurse of forty years at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Cynthia McKinney is the proud mother of a son, Coy McKinney.

While in Congress, from 1993 - 2003, Cynthia became known as the voice for the voiceless. She provided a seat at the table for people long left out of Georgia's political and economic mainstream. She supported candidates representing the people who had been politically marginalized. The result was more hope and more representation at the local level for black people and people of low wealth throughout the rural black belt of Georgia.

It is important to note that Cynthia McKinney sponsored legislation to end the use of all depleted uranium weapons until their health effects are known. She voted against record Bush Administration Pentagon budgets and challenged the Pentagon to explain how it "lost" over $2.3 trillion in un-trackable transactions. She decried the Pentagon's sweetheart deals with Halliburton, the Carlyle Group, and DynCorp and its successor companies.

Cynthia spoke out against the loss of our fundamental freedoms during Bush Administration prosecution of the War on Terrorism and reminds Committee members of the well-known and documented abuses during the COINTELPRO era.

Her legislation to end the mining of coltan in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo was mentioned in a United Nations special report. Almost single-handedly, she forced the United Nations to convene an independent commission on the Rwanda genocide and the role of the US and the UN in failing to stop Africa's most horrific genocide.

Cynthia hosted the first delegation of Afro-Latinos from Central and South America and worked with the World Bank and the U.S. State Department to recognize Afro-Latinos. She stood with Aboriginals against Australian mining companies; and with the U'wa people of Colombia in their fight to save their sacred land from oil rigs. She stood with poor Georgia farmers, black and white, against South African mining companies operating in the US. During her tenure on the House International Relations Committee, Cynthia recognized others who championed peace and nominated President Jaochim Chissano, President of Mozambique, for the Nobel Peace Prize and he made it to the final group. In her final Congressional act, she nominated Juan Carreras for the same honor, for his work to bring peace to Democratic Republic of Congo and the Great Lakes region of Africa. Today, Cynthia continues to work with Carreras to bring justice to the dead in one of Africa's most horrific moments.

Cynthia had also begun to focus on COINTELPRO and Hip Hop empowerment. Cynthia held three Hip Hop Powershops featuring Kevin Powell, Afeni Shakur, Li'l Zane, and media executives.

She also held two COINTELPRO hearings: one on US Political Prisoners, the other on the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Cynthia used her positions of influence on both the House Armed Services Committee and the House International Relations Committee to apply international human rights standards to US conduct at home and abroad.

Cynthia was tapped by the Congressional Black Caucus to lead its effort on the Durban World Conference Against Racism. Despite all her efforts on behalf of the poor and dispossessed, in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and in the United States, Cynthia learned from news reports that AIPAC, The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, had targeted her for defeat. Cynthia never lost her courage and refused to compromise her values. However, when Cynthia McKinney became one of the first Members of Congress to demand a thorough investigation into the events of September 11, 2001 and responsibly asked the question, "What did the Administration know and when did it know it about the events of September 11th?" she was vilified and targeted by Georgia and national Republicans. As a result of her thought-provoking question, an estimated 40,000 Republicans voted in the Democratic Primary to oust Cynthia. It is called "crossover" voting and her supporters filed a lawsuit against this practice so that no voice of the people like Cynthia's would ever be silenced again in such an unfair electoral practice.

Cynthia was invited to Mumbai, India to speak at the World Social Forum. She has spoken all over the United States and in Germany, France, Italy, Jamaica, and many places all over the world because she is nationally and internationally recognized for her tireless voice on behalf of justice in the United States.

The film American Blackout provides a glimpse into her heroic efforts in Congress and the efforts to oust her and "steal elections."

Under attack by the media, the Democratic Party, defeated in the 2006 Election with the assistance of malfunctioning voting machines, she was wooed by the Green Party to be their Presidential candidate.

Carol Wolman, MD is a psychiatrist in Northern California. She wrote Why the Resistance to 9/11 Truth?. A lifelong peace activist, she has written extensively on the psychology of our times. She was a founder of Bay Area Impeach Bush-Cheney. She ran for Congress in '06, and is now a Green candidate for Congress in CA District 1. She is a coordinator of The New Broom Coalition, for a clean sweep of Congress. She has practiced psychiatry for many years, and penned many excellent articles including- Is the President Nuts?.

Pioneering 9/11 activist and video producer Ken Jenkins has a degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, and has done extensive postgraduate study in psychology. He has worked as a video professional for over 30 years, including 7 years at Hewlett-Packard in their state-of-the-art broadcast video facility HPTV.

Ken awoke to 9/11 truth by November of 2001 and started presenting his PowerPoint and video productions on 9/11 truth in early 2002. He has since spoken at four international 9/11 conferences on the Psychological Aspects of 9/11 and participated in numerous other 9/11 events and radio programs. His first video release,“Perspective on 9/11” was originally made for the early live presentations. He has since produced dozens of 9/11 DVDs, including eight with leading 9/11 Truth author David Ray Griffin, including his best-“9/11 – The Myth and the Reality” and his latest- 9/11 and Nationalist Faith: How Faith Can Be Illuminating or Blinding.

He is also a partner in 911tv.org, which has documented speakers from many 9/11 conferences and events. The resulting DVDs, as well as those produced by others, are distributed in part through cable access channels nationwide. Ken also designed the popular 11 Remarkable Facts About 9/11 card. By revealing the “false flag” nature of the 9/11 attacks, it is Ken’s intention to not only help end the current bogus “war on terror” but to also help open the way to ending war as a political option on this planet.

Chuck Millar received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and has been in private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1987. He has been a 9/11 Truth activist since 2003, attending numerous demonstrations and engaging in conversations with people in denial about what happened on 9/11. Chuck is also a free-lance technical editor and has edited many press releases and promotional documents for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance (and has helped mediate conflicts which have arisen within the group).

At the last moment, the format of the show was changed. Ralph Metzner who was scheduled to be on June 16th won't be available on the 16th, so we tried to include him in the last half hour- instead of a larger discussion. Due to technical difficulties, he was only with us for the last fifteen minutes.

Ralph Metzner, Ph.D. who has a B.A. in philosophy and psychology from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Harvard University, has been involved in the study of transformations of consciousness ever since, as a graduate student, he worked with Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (later Ram Dass) on the Harvard Psilocybin Projects. He co-wrote The Psychedelic Experience, and was editor of The Psychedelic Review. During the 1970s, Ralph spent 10 years in the intensive study and practice of Agni Yoga, a meditative system of working with light-fire life-energies. He wrote Maps of Consciousness, one of the earliest attempts at a comparative cartography of consciousness; and Know Your Type, a comparative survey of personality typologies, ancient and modern. He was the Academic Dean for ten years, during the 1980s, at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he taught courses there on “Altered States of Consciousness” and “Developing Ecological Consciousness.” He is now Professor Emeritus. He maintains a part-time psychotherapy practice, and conducts numerous workshops on consciousness transformation, both nationally and internationally. His books include The Well of Remembrance, The Unfolding Self, Green Psychology, two edited collections on the science and the phenomenology of Ayahuasca and Teonanácatl and The Expansion of Consciousness. He is the founder of the Green Earth Foundation.

Roughly 3 years ago Bruce watched the film "The Corporation," a documentary that details exactly what those with the most wealth and power have swallowed up our nation and the world through the power of their corporations. It also details how they can get away unbelievable crimes against humanity, things they would not be allowed to get away with as individuals by simply hiding behind their corporate veils. Through their control of our government they can impose their will on all of us by simply passing legislation and regulations that are enforced by government police powers. Without the coercive powers of government, the people behind the most powerful corporations could not get away with what they are getting away with.

This knowledge moved Bruce to launch The Kick Them All Out Project, a campaign to rid our government and election process of the two most corrupting influences, corporate lobbyists and career politicians that have turned our government over to them. The Project has also launched the Fire Congress Campaign and Fire Congress Meetup Groups to facilitate the first step required to take back control of our Congress. As Bruce often says, until the power of our votes are FELT, we have no power. Politicians know we won't unite and vote them out. Mission Statement
We want to break the siege of Gaza. We want to raise international awareness about the prison-like closure of the Gaza Strip and pressure the international community to review its sanctions policy and end its support for continued Israeli occupation. We want to uphold Palestine's right to welcome internationals as visitors, human rights observers, humanitarian aid workers, journalists, or otherwise.

Who are we?
We are these human rights observers, aid workers, and journalists. We have years of experience volunteering in Gaza and the West Bank at the invitation of Palestinians. But now, because of the increasing stranglehold of Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine, many of us find it almost impossible to enter Gaza, and an increasing number have been refused entry to Israel and the West Bank as well. Despite the great need for our work, the Israeli Government will not allow us in to do it.

We are of all ages and backgrounds. Back home, we are teachers, medics, musicians, secretaries, parents, grandparents, lawyers, students, activists, actors, playwrights, politicians, singer-songwriters, web designers, international training consultants, and even a former Hollywood film industry worker and an aviator. We are South African, Australian, American, English, Israeli, Palestinian, and more.

What are we going to do?
We've tried to enter Palestine by land. We've tried to arrive by air. Now we're getting serious. We're taking a ship.

Darlene Wallach is a software engineer from San Jose. She and her sister, Donna, have been tireless activists for years working on a number of causes, especially those for peace and justice in the Middle East. In 2002 Darlene was one of eight International Solidarity Movement activists arrested by Israeli Forces and began fasting to protest her illegal arrest. Donna will also be joining the others on the ship.

Kathleen Wang is 65 years old and a great grandmother. She has 7 grandchildren and 3 grown children. She belongs to Women in Black LA. This is her frist trip to Palestine.

She became interested in Palestine after the 2000 Intifada started and learned over time that this is not just a tit for tat fight between 2 entities.

"It is the gross oppression and dominance of a militaristic Israel forcing an unarmed indigenous population of Palestinians to submit to untold control over them and suffering."

Hedy Epstein was born in 1924 in Germany. She was 8 years old when Adolf Hitler came to power. She went to England on a children's transport, part of the almost 10,000 children that England took in between December 1938 and September 1, 1939, the beginning of World War II. She never saw her family again.

After the war, Hedy went back to Germany to work for the American government. First she was with the US Civil Censorship Division, and later she worked at the Nuremberg Medical Trial, which tried the doctors accused of performing medical experiments on concentration camp inmates.

She came to the United States in 1948. Soon, she became active professionally and personally in the causes of civil and human rights and social justice. Some of her causes have included fair housing, abortion rights, and antiwar activities. As a peace delegate, Hedy journeyed to Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Cambodia in 1989. Hedy visited the Israeli Occupied West Bank five times since 2003, to witness the facts on the ground. She participated in several non-violent demonstrations, together with Israelis, Palestinians & other internationals, in opposition to Israel's occupation of Palestinian land, the 25-foot high cement wall, and the demolition of Palestinian homes and olive orchards.

She has written many articles on social issues, and her autobiography was published in May 1999 by Unrast-Verlag, a German company. The book, titled "Erinnern ist nicht genug: Autobiographie von Hedy Epstein" ("Remembering Is Not Enough: The Autobiography of Hedy Epstein"), is available in German.

Greta Berlin, is a 66 year old businesswoman from Los Angeles. She is the mother of two Palestinian-American children and has been to the occupied territories twice in the past four years with the International Solidarity Movement. She is also a member of Women in Black Los Angeles. In a June 2007 interview by Silvia Cattori entitled Sailing to Gaza Greta said:

"When I lived in Chicago, Illinois I married a Palestinian refugee from l948. That's when I began to learn the truth about Israel's ethnic cleansing of 750,000 Palestinians in order to establish a Jewish state. As I became more involved in the 60s and 70s, a group called the Jewish Defence League threatened by two small children, saying they would kill them if we continued to work for justice for the Palestinians.

"For almost 20 years I left the struggle, raising the children and working on my career. I wasn't going to jeopardize their safety for a cause I supported.

"In 1997, with my children grown and gone, I started to write letters and advocate again. I couldn't believe that almost 20 years had passed, and the situation for the Palestinians was worse by the day. On September 29, 2000, Mohammed Al Dura, a little 12-year-old boy in Gaza was murdered by an Israeli sniper. Someone just happened to catch the killing on video. I was appalled and returned.

"When Rachel Corrie was crushed to death in March, 2003 and Tom Hurndall was shot through the head several days later; both human rights workers with the International Solidarity Movement in Gaza, I made a commitment to go to the occupied territories to see for myself what Israel was doing to a people it occupies...

"Those of us who have volunteered for the ISM are peaceful and believe in nonviolently demonstrating against the occupation. The only terrorism that I witnessed in the five months I was there in 2003 and 2005 was the Israeli military violence against us and the illegal settler violence against the Palestinians and those of us who were trying to protect them. I was shot in the leg by a rubber-coated steel bullet while protesting against that dreadful wall Israel is building. And I, like hundreds of peace activists, have had tear gas and sound bombs thrown at me in Bil'in. While escorting Palestinian children to school in Hebron, settler children threw rocks at us, wounding me in the hand and the thigh.

"Almost everyone on board this boat has been beaten, shot, or tear-gassed by the Israeli military. Many of us have been arrested for protecting women and children. Israeli authorities know that we aren't connected in any way to any terrorist organization.

"But Israel is terrified that we come back to our countries and tell the truth of what happens to an occupied people. That's what they really fear- the truth.

"We are all committed to going to Gaza. And we are eagerly awaiting the support of all progressive people to join with us. Even if we don't land, we will have tried, and we will have told the world the situation. I believe that all of the people on the boat feel the same way. We know what the obstacles are. And this is not the only voyage. We will continue to return as part of a strategy of bringing the truth of Israel's occupation to the world."

Mary Hughes Thompson was born in Lancashire in 1933, lived in Canada from 1953 to 1961, when she moved to California, where she worked in the motion picture and television industry. She is a member of the Writers Guild of America and a private pilot. She wrote Olive Orchards and Armed Zealots in 2002 about her experience in Palestine, as part of the International Solidarity Movement when she was attacked by settlers.

Dr. Bill Dienst is a Family and Emergency Room physician in Omak, in rural Washington State. He has traveled to the Middle East four times, but he considers that he was raised as a product of the arms race. His father was an Air Force Colonel.

In Medical School he became active with peace groups. In 1985 after taking an intensive summer course in Arabic, he spent over 5 months in Egypt, the West Bank and Gaza volunteering with various Palestinian healthcare organizations.

He has enjoyed a wealth of cross cultural experiences in medicine with Crow and Northern Cheyenne Native American patients during his 3 years in Montana with the Indian Health Service, and with Colville tribal members and Hispanic patients in Okanogan County. He enrolled in immersion Spanish language courses in Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico totaling 6 weeks, where he lived with local families who did not speak English. He took three trips to Veracruz, Mexico with the Family Medicine Exchange Program, and has visited Cuba, as well as as Gaza.

In 2005 he was part of a delegation sponsored by Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility to Israel/Palestine. They met with prominent Palestinian groups and mostly Israeli Peace activists, and wrote all about it. In 2006 he volunteered with Palestine Medical Relief Society for one month in the North West Bank and in Gaza. His photo-journals from both trip are posted on electronicintifada.net/ (Enter Dienst in the search engine to find them).

David Halpin was born in Lyndhurst, England in 1940. He attended medical school at St Mary’s, Paddington. During his training David met his future wife, Sue, a nurse.

In 1964 he graduated and a glittering career followed, including teaching anatomy at King’s College, London, and working as a senior house officer at Bristol,posts at Exeter and Truro, six months teaching at Harvard, and an appointment as a consultant at Torbay and Princess Elizabeth hospitals in 1974. He also ventured into private practice. The intensely competitive nature of the surgical world drove that choice for him; success was often measured by the popularity of a surgeon’s private practice.

David and Sue adopted two children and fostered fourteen, from newborns to 16-year-olds, including three pairs of siblings. His love for children is one of the forces that drives him. He often says:

"We have three beautiful grandchildren - girls. I look at their lustrous skin and hair and into their happy blue eyes. In those eyes I see the two billions of our world's children. They are all equally precious. Not one should be harmed."

He is passionate about the plight of the Palestinian people and was vehemently opposed to the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2002 David wanted to help the Palestinians, when a brilliant idea occurred to him. He would buy or charter a boat, fill it with food and medical supplies, and sail to Palestine. The voyage of The Dove and the Dolphin in the Danish MV Barbara started from Haldon Quay, Torquay on 1st February 2003 and finished the 3,100 sea miles to Gaza sixteen days later. The £70,000 cost of the mercy ship mission was paid by the Halpins and over £20,000 of donations from the public paid for the food. The voyage was a success, the Palestinians received the aid David Halpin supplied, and the publicity raised international consciousness of the Palestinian plight. He has visited Palestine six times since the voyage.

He also entered the public arena, with a group of other doctors, to seek a proper investigation of Dr David Kelly’s death. He says it is impossible that Dr Kelly died of haemorrhage from one small wrist artery, which is the first official cause of death. Furthermore, he considers it preposterous that this top scientist who knew all about the biology of death would have chosen a blunt pruning knife and co-proxamol tablets for his suicide. David Halpin was the first to publish these questions. His website is dhalpin.infoaction.org.uk.

Michael Andregg is the author of On the Causes of War, and the producer of Rethinking 9/11: Why Truth and Reconciliation are Better Strategies Than Global War.

Michael Andregg received his Ph.D. in behavior genetics from the University of California at Davis in 1977 after completing a triple-major bachelor’s degree (in genetics, zoology and anthropology). He studied monkeys in Morocco between the bachelor’s and the Ph.D., and has had an interdisciplinary life ever since.

After two years of postdoctoral research at the University of Minnesota hospitals, he focused on the causes of war since war is a much larger public health hazard than rare diseases. He has taught at Macalester and Gustavus Adolphus Colleges, and is currently a professor in Justice and Peace at the University of St. Thomas. He also teaches in the University of Minnesota graduate school (since 1998) and undergraduate since 1981. He started an education non-profit in 1982 called Ground Zero Minnesota, which has produced 57 television programs and sponsored several thousand educational programs in schools, churches, and civic groups.

Andregg’s book, “On the Causes of War” won a National Peacewriting Award in 1999, has been reprinted twice, republished in Canada and has been translated into Italian. He is on the boards of the International Society for the Comparative Study of Civilizations and the Hawkinson Foundation for Peace and Justice.

For the last several years he has studied spies focusing on issues of intelligence reform, has arranged over twenty panels for spy conferences in various parts of the world, edited a reader on intelligence ethics that has been used by the CIA and DIA, and was recently selected to write the chapter on ethics for a textbook on Intelligence Studies (2007).

In 2006 he won a “golden candle” award for bringing light to dark corners of the intelligence community. His latest project is “Rethinking 9/11: Why Truth and Reconciliation are Better Strategies Than Global War” resulting in a TV documentary released in February, 2008 with that title.

I met Michael in Minneapolis at the National Conference on Media Reform and we agreed that 9/11 was a special operation designed to initiate a "global war." This show will look at ways that we can prevent the expansion of the current "War on Terrorism" into a global war.

Kevin Ryan is a former Site Manager for Environmental Health Laboratories, a division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Mr. Ryan, a Chemist and laboratory manager, was fired by UL in 2004 for publicly questioning the report being drafted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on their World Trade Center investigation. In the intervening period, Ryan has completed additional research while his original questions, which have become increasingly important over time, remain unanswered by UL or NIST.

Through interviews, presentations, and his work as co-editor at the online Journal of 911 Studies, Mr. Ryan works to bring out the truth behind the events of 9/11/01 for the benefit of all people. His story and articles are available through www.ultruth.com including a paer he co-authored which was published in the peer reviewed Bentham Open Civil Engineering Journal entitled Fourteen Points of Agreement with Official Government Reports on the World Trade Center Destruction

Richard Gage, AIA is the founding member of ae911Truth.org. He has been a practicing Architect for 20 years and has worked on most types of building construction including numerous fire-proofed steel-framed buildings. He is employed with a San Francisco Bay Area architecture firm and has most recently performed Construction Administration services for a new $120M High School campus including a $10M steel-framed Gymnasium. Currently he is working on the Design Development for a very large mixed use urban project with 1.2M sq.ft. of retail and 320K sq.ft. of mid-rise office space — altogether about 1,200 tons of steel framing.

He has been one of the most tireless speakers on the issue of 9/11 truth, and more specifically on challenging the official narrative of the disintegration of the 3 major skyscrapers in the World trade Center complex that took place on September 11th. He has been lecturing widely across the US and in Canada, most recently at M.I.T. Those who see his presentation rarely walk away still thinking that fires alone could have brought down the buildings.

Ron Brookman, S.E. is a member of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. He is a licensed structural engineer in the state of California. He obtained B.S. Civil Engineering (1984) and M.S. Structural Engineering (1986) degrees from the University of California at Davis, and has over 21 years experience in structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehabilitation of buildings in northern California.

In his public statement he says-

One of our primary responsibilities as architects and engineers is to ensure public safety in and around our structures, and we take this seriously. It is also our responsibility as concerned American citizens to ask questions and seek honest answers. I encourage everyone to read the numerous books, technical reports and papers about the WTC; look closely at the photographs and videos; listen to the speakers with an open mind. Decide for yourself, and take a stand for what you believe. As a structural engineer I believe in the laws of physics and rely on them every day.

After much reading and studying it is obvious that NIST, FEMA and the 9/11 Commission have all fallen short of a detailed accounting of the catastrophic collapses of the three World Trade Center buildings in Manhattan on 9/11/01. A few examples of unexplained details include the "severe high temperature corrosion attack on the steel" as described in Appendix C of the FEMA Building Performance Study, the complete symmetrical collapses following asymmetric structural damage and short-term fires, and the chemical signature of incendiary compounds found in the toxic WTC dust.

I would really like to know why complete collapse of the twin towers "became inevitable" as expressed by NIST without any scientific analysis to substantiate it. Why would all 110 stories drop straight down to the ground in about 10 seconds, pulverizing most of the contents into dust and ash - twice? Why would WTC 7 fall straight down to the ground in about seven seconds the same day? It was not struck by any aircraft or engulfed in any fire. An independent investigation is justified - and necessary - for all three collapses.

Kamal Obeid, S.E. is also a licensed Structural Engineer who signed the Architects and engineers for 9/11 Truth petition and wrote this statement:

"Only recently have I begun to examine the structural collapse of the buildings. Photos of the steel, evidence about how the buildings collapsed, the unexplainable collapse of WTC 7, evidence of thermite in the debris as well as several other red flags, are quite troubling indications of well planned and controlled demolition
"

Scott C. Grainger, S.E., President and Chief Engineer, is a licensed Civil and/or Fire Protection Engineer in the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Virginia, California, Nevada and Washington. He is the owner of Grainger Consulting, Inc. A fire protection engineering firm (23 years). Approximately 50% of his work is forensic. In addition to my forensic work, a good portion of my work is in the design of structural fireproofing systems. Regarding 9/11, he wrote:

All three collapses were very uniform in nature. Natural collapses due to unplanned events are not uniform.

William Lewis lives in Columbia, Missouri, he is a writer, civil rights advocate, and award winning independent filmmaker specializing in producing patriotic-style documentaries that expose governmental abuse of power and focus viewers on a wide range of grassroots solutions.

Larry has compared Obama with the candidate skewered by the Democratic Party and the Media who has consistently spoken up on behalf of truth and people- Cynthia McKinney. Why was he a political prisoner? The following excerpt from his FBI file, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, speaks for itself:

Effective organizers, coalitions that cross traditional boundaries are what is needed in these times.

John Ennis is the director of the film [See trailer at: Free for All! One Dude's Quest to Save Democracy]. Free For All will be posted in its entirety online on the 4th of July, and is really a very critical look at our electoral system and a rallying cry for citizen participation to save this country from having our country stolen from under our very noses. (Actually, he hints that the 2008 election has already been stolen, but that it is up to us- to steal it back...)

John has given a few sneak previews of his film- in LA, NYC, and at the Nat'l Conference on Media Reform, where I saw it, and met him, and Holly Mosher, Executive Producer. The film was entertaining, but included some of the most knowledgable, informative interviews with those best informed researchers who have been blowing the whistle on the stolen elections.

John "the dude" trying to save democracy does have a gift for making films- He attended the USC and NYU Film Schools. His production company Shoot First Inc. specializes in non-fiction entertainment.

His feature directorial debut was an improvised comedy, Wild Girls Gone, written by and starring the Upright Citizens Brigade (Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, and Matt Besser). In Documentary, Ennis has dealt with pharmaceutical companies’ impropriety (the award-winning Money Talks: Profits Before Patient Safety), and has been a long-time documentarian of the sport of competitive eating (Major League Eaters; Red, White, & Yellow) He co-DP’ed A/K/A Tommy Chong, chronicling the comedian’s federal prosecution, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Ennis has produced and developed Reality TV for FremantleMedia, Rocket Science, RDF Media, and Nash Entertainment, and his work has been seen on NBC, FOX, CBS, ABC, TLC, BBC, even Oprah.

Ennis’s New York City cable access show Toolz of the New School was a cult hit in the late 1990’s. A combination of sketch and stunt comedy blended with political documentary and live Hip Hop, the show won awards, and screened in art galleries around the world.

Peter Phillips is a professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University and director of Project Censored Project Censored is a media research program working in cooperation with numerous independent media groups in the US. Project Censored’s principle objective is training of SSU students in media research and First Amendment issues and the advocacy for, and protection of, free press rights in the United States. Project Censored has trained over 1,500 students in investigative research in the past three decades.

Through a partnership of faculty, students, and the community, Project Censored conducts research on important national news stories that are underreported, ignored, misrepresented, or censored by the US corporate media. Each year, Project Censored publishes a ranking of the top 25 most censored nationally important news stories in the yearbook, Censored: Media Democracy in Action, which is released in September.

Peter Phillips is co-editor with Dennis Loo of the book, Impeach the President: The Case Against Bush and Cheney. He contributed a chapter entitledThe Global Dominance Group: 9/11 Pre-Warnings & Election Irregularities in Context to the book 9/11 and American Empire (Volume I) Intellectuals Speak Out. He has also helped to organize conferences around media accountability, and the most censored issues that threaten democracy and the world (Publicizing Truth with Consequence). At the Memphis National Media Reform Conference in January 2007, he spoke on the subject of the Independent media's poor coverage of stolen elections, impeachment, and 9/11 truth. This year his suggestions for panels and workshops were turned down and there were no speakers in the formal plenaries or workshops speaking about 9/11 truth (Although there was a well attended poster session where Peter did have a chance to speak.) He has much firsthand experience in breaking important issues into the mainstream and independent media.

Neil Slade is a musical composer, seasoned concert performer, author, and artist. He also has a very interesting website on 9/11- www.911Think.com and produced the film Captain Sherlock Solves 9/11. He attended Metropolitan State College, the University of Colorado, and the University of Denver, and graduated Magna cum laude in 1978. Certified by the State of Colorado to teach grades Kindergarten through 12, he has taught for 30 years (starting before graduation) privately and in the public school system. Beyond his classroom instruction, he has taught an estimated 25,000 individual music and art lessons to students ages 6 through 66.

Slade was assistant to Brain and Behavior Researcher T.D.A. Lingo, Ph.B., B.Sci. M.A., for 11 years at Colorado's Dormant Brain Research and Development Laboratory, established by director Lingo in 1957.

For several years, Slade was employed full time to create and present therapeutic creativity, music, and art workshops at many of Colorado's major psychiatric and medical treatment centers. This included West Pines Psychiatric Hospital, Ft. Logan Mental Health Center, Denver General Psychiatric Ward, Mt. Airy Psychiatric Hospital, Children's Hospital of Denver, Denver Head Injury Clinic, as well as many public and private facilities.

In an unprecedented original "Mind Music" program, Slade was employed by the principal of a Denver Public Elementary School to teach all 600 students and their teachers how to self-activate advanced levels of creativity, intelligence, and cooperative trust behavior by learning "brain basics". The program ended with teachers singing to their students and students dancing in the classroom.

Neil has recorded and released 9 albums of original pop/jazz/classical/avant garde music, and has written and published five printed books and three audio CD books on learning, creativity, and the brain, along with one of book of romantic poetry.

His books "The Frontal Lobes Supercharge" and "Have Fun are easy to use do-it-yourself manuals for turning on untapped areas of each and every persons' brain- "the other 90%". Carol Wolman, MD is a psychiatrist in Northern California. She wrote Why the Resistance to 9/11 Truth?. A lifelong peace activist, she has written extensively on the psychology of our times. She was a founder of Bay Area Impeach Bush-Cheney. She ran for Congress in '06, and is now a Green candidate for Congress in CA District 1. Pioneering 9/11 activist and video producer Ken Jenkins has a degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, and has done extensive postgraduate study in psychology. He has worked as a video professional for over 30 years, including 7 years at Hewlett-Packard in their state-of-the-art broadcast video facility HPTV.

Ken awoke to 9/11 truth by November of 2001 and started presenting his PowerPoint and video productions on 9/11 truth in early 2002. He has since spoken at four international 9/11 conferences on the Psychological Aspects of 9/11 and participated in numerous other 9/11 events and radio programs. His first video release,“Perspective on 9/11” was originally made for the early live presentations. He has since produced dozens of 9/11 DVDs, including eight with leading 9/11 Truth author David Ray Griffin, including his best-“9/11 – The Myth and the Reality” and his latest- 9/11 and Nationalist Faith: How Faith Can Be Illuminating or Blinding.

He is also a partner in 911tv.org, which has documented speakers from many 9/11 conferences and events. The resulting DVDs, as well as those produced by others, are distributed in part through cable access channels nationwide. Ken also designed the popular 11 Remarkable Facts About 9/11 card. By revealing the “false flag” nature of the 9/11 attacks, it is Ken’s intention to not only help end the current bogus “war on terror” but to also help open the way to ending war as a political option on this planet.

Chuck Millar received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and has been in private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1987. He has been a 9/11 Truth activist since 2003, attending numerous demonstrations and engaging in conversations with people in denial about what happened on 9/11. Chuck is also a free-lance technical editor and has edited many press releases and promotional documents for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance (and has helped mediate conflicts which have arisen within the group).

At the last moment, the format of the show was changed. Ralph Metzner who was scheduled to be on June 16th won't be available on the 16th, so we tried to include him in the last half hour- instead of a larger discussion. Due to technical difficulties, he was only with us for the last fifteen minutes.

Ralph Metzner, Ph.D. who has a B.A. in philosophy and psychology from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Harvard University, has been involved in the study of transformations of consciousness ever since, as a graduate student, he worked with Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (later Ram Dass) on the Harvard Psilocybin Projects. He co-wrote The Psychedelic Experience, and was editor of The Psychedelic Review. During the 1970s, Ralph spent 10 years in the intensive study and practice of Agni Yoga, a meditative system of working with light-fire life-energies. He wrote Maps of Consciousness, one of the earliest attempts at a comparative cartography of consciousness; and Know Your Type, a comparative survey of personality typologies, ancient and modern. He was the Academic Dean for ten years, during the 1980s, at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he taught courses there on “Altered States of Consciousness” and “Developing Ecological Consciousness.” He is now Professor Emeritus. He maintains a part-time psychotherapy practice, and conducts numerous workshops on consciousness transformation, both nationally and internationally. His books include The Well of Remembrance, The Unfolding Self, Green Psychology, two edited collections on the science and the phenomenology of Ayahuasca and Teonanácatl and The Expansion of Consciousness. He is the founder of the Green Earth Foundation.

Richard Cook is a former federal government analyst who was one of the key figures in the investigation of the space shuttle Challenger disaster.

In 1985, he went to work for NASA as the lead resource analyst for the space shuttle solid rocket boosters, external tank, and Centaur upper stage. Cook’s first assignment led to his writing a memo on engineers’ concerns that flaws with the solid rocket booster O-ring seals could cause the shuttle to blow up. In 1986, after the Challenger disaster, he disrupted a NASA cover-up when he provided his memo, along with other documents on the hazards of the O-rings, to the New York Times. His disclosures paved the way for revelations by engineers from Morton Thiokol, Inc., about how they opposed the launch of Challenger the night before lift-off.

Called to testify before the Presidential Commission at an internationally televised public hearing, Cook stood his ground when his experience and competence were challenged. He continued to contribute to the investigation during interviews with Commission staff and the NASA Office of Inspector General and in meetings with Senator Ernest Hollings, who was trying to raise issues before the Senate on whether there had been White House pressure to launch Challenger.

In addition to extensive interviews with the media after the disaster, Cook published articles in the Washington Post, Washington Monthly, Space and Security News, and the Houston Post; gave a press conference with the Institute of Space and Security Studies, where he said that the Presidential Commission had been created to cover-up the role of the White House in the launch decision; and wrote a report which he submitted to the U.S. Justice Department with a request for a new investigation. In 1991, he was the recipient of the Cavallo Foundation Award for Moral Courage in Business and Government, sharing the award with Roger Boisjoly of Morton Thiokol.

Before joining NASA, Cook worked as an analyst for the U.S. Civil Service Commission, where he received extensive training in federal government operations. He then worked for the Food and Drug Administration and next served in the Jimmy Carter White House under Esther Peterson, special assistant to the president for consumer affairs. He also taught history at the Field School, a private high school in Washington, D.C.

Cook left NASA to become an analyst with the U.S. Treasury Department in 1986. There he developed and taught training courses on policy analysis and led project teams on financial policy and organizational restructuring. He authored Challenger Revealed- An Insider’s Account of How the Reagan Administration Caused the Greatest Tragedy of the Space Age in 2006.
He retired from the federal government in January 2007 and works today as a writer, lecturer, and consultant. His website is richardccook.com.

Cook graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He resides in College Park, Maryland.

Kevin Ryan is a former Site Manager for Environmental Health Laboratories, a division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Mr. Ryan, a Chemist and laboratory manager, was fired by UL in 2004 for publicly questioning the report being drafted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on their World Trade Center investigation. Richard Gage, AIA is the founding member of ae911Truth.org. He has been a practicing Architect for 20 years and has worked on most types of building construction including numerous fire-proofed steel-framed buildings. He is employed with a San Francisco Bay Area architecture firm and has most recently performed Construction Administration services for a new $120M High School campus including a $10M steel-framed Gymnasium. Currently he is working on the Design Development for a very large mixed use urban project with 1.2M sq.ft. of retail and 320K sq.ft. of mid-rise office space — altogether about 1,200 tons of steel framing.

He has been one of the most tireless speakers on the issue of 9/11 truth, and more specifically on challenging the official narrative of the disintegration of the 3 major skyscrapers in the World trade Center complex that took place on September 11th. He has been lecturing widely across the US and in Canada, most recently at M.I.T. Those who see his presentation rarely walk away still thinking that fires alone could have brought down the buildings.

Ron Brookman, S.E. is a member of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. He is a licensed structural engineer in the state of California. He obtained B.S. Civil Engineering (1984) and M.S. Structural Engineering (1986) degrees from the University of California at Davis, and has over 21 years experience in structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehabilitation of buildings in northern California.

State Senator Karen Johnson recently peened an Op-Ed entitled We deserve the full truth about 9/11 and came out publicly in support of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. She wrote to those who applauded her for speaking out:

Just to tell you a little bit more about myself, I’ve been looking at the 9/11 controversy for quite awhile. I’ve attended a number of lectures, have read many articles, and I think I’ve watched every DVD out there. I also have looked at many web sites. As a legislator, I’ve learned that it’s very important to hear all sides of an issue. I’m very appreciative of the work of Richard Gage and Dr. Steven Jones and so many others who have been doing research and leading the effort to get a new investigation. This research has persuaded me that I needed to stand up and be counted. My husband, Jerry, is very supportive of me (but he’s sick of attending meetings after all these years!) and my concerns about the 9/11 investigation. We have 33 grandchildren with one on the way, and we don’t want to leave them a society where people cannot get honest answers to reasonable questions.

Eric Larsen is the author of A Nation Gone Blind: America in an Age of Simplification and Deceit and recently penned- The Debate Over 9/11- NOTES FROM A DYING NATION Number Three. His powerful voice and website have been muted mysteriously and deserve to be heard.

Eric Larsen was born in Northfield, Minnesota, where, after attending the public schools, he graduated from Carleton College in 1963. He took an M.A. in English from the University of Iowa and in 1971 completed his Ph.D. there, with Robert Scholes as one of his faculty advisors. For his dissertation, under the direction of William Cotter Murray, he wrote a volume of original stories accompanied by his own critical commentaries.

In 1971, after living abroad for two years, Larsen joined the English Department of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, and remained there until his retirement in early 2006. He is married to the editor Anne Larsen. The couple have two grown daughters.

Larsen published stories and essays in quarterlies and magazines throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and in 1988 Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill brought out his novel “An American Memory,” which became the winner of the Chicago Tribune’s inaugural Heartland Prize for the year’s best novel of or about the middle west.

In 1992, Algonquin published “I Am Zoë Handke,” a novel complementing and advancing several of the elements and themes of “An American Memory.” Changes in the national mood, in reading habits, in academics, and in popular taste from the early 1990s on brought about a situation whereby Larsen’s third and fourth novels (“The End of the 19th Century” and “The Decline and Fall of the American Nation”), making up a tetralogy, remain unpublished. In spring 2006, Shoemaker & Hoard published his book of political and cultural criticism, “A Nation Gone Blind: America in an Age of Simplification and Deceit.” Here is a great review posted at Online Journal.

Phil Burk is a software and hardware developer who has kept up the outstanding impeachment website- www.impeachbush.tv and has publicly championed Impeachment at various forums, most recently in New Hampshire to push for an Impeachment Resolution.

Dr. Barbara G. Ellis has been working tirelessly for impeachment and will speak about the "Nixon Flooding Plan," the impeachment ad that ran in Roll Call which all members of congress receive. She also believes another high crime might be reason enough to impeach Bush- the illegal 29- 150 Billion dollar bailout that Bush urged the Federal Reserve to give to Morgan Chase to bail out Bear Stearns. Ellis worked her way to a Pacific University BA as a reporter/photographer/copyeditor for the Forest Grove News-Times. It was training that led her to be a LIFE magazine reporter, then editorial page editor and writer for the Beirut (Lebanon) Daily Star, copyeditor at the Washington (DC) Evening Star,
associate editor at International Medical News Group, and publications director for Portland's Standard Insurance Co. Ellis was an assistant professor of technical journalism at Oregon State University, and assistant chair and professor of mass communication at Louisiana's McNeese State University. She has written six books,
one of which— The Moving Appeal —was nominated for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize in history. She is the principal in Ellis Associates, LLC of Portland, a free-lance writing firm, and involved in screenwriting and political journalism and activism. Ellis holds an MA in journalism from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate in English from Oregon State. A local activist, she's a member of the South Side DemocracyforAmerica Meetup Group, the Portland chapter of We the People National Coalition for Impeachment, a campaigner for Steve Novick's senatorial race, and a member of Portland's 9/11 Truth Alliance as well as being one of the 650 members of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice organization. She was married to a National Geographic senior writer and has two grown children, one granddaughter.

Carol Wolman has worked tirelessly for impeachment. In 2006 she was a write in Congressional candidate for Impeachment, this year she is on the ballot as a Green Party Candidate for Impeachment. She has also been working to build The Longhouse Coalition and the New Broom Coalition to build a stronger grassroots movement to support people who favor peace over war, people over corporations, planet over profits, justice. She has practiced psychiatry for many years and penned many excellent articles including- Is the President Nuts?. Her husband and son have also contributed to her work and produced a film entitled- High Crimes and Atrocities documenting the grounds for impeachment.

Brad Newsham organized multiple Beach Impeach events. He is also an author who has published accounts of his travels ( Take Me With You & All the Right Places )and drives a cab. Recently he announced his committment to run for Congress as a write-in candidate against Barbara Lee because she is not pushing for Impeachment. He is part of a growing coalition of Impeachment candidates and is urging people to run as write-in Impeachment candidates in every Congressional district across the nation.

Bill Densmore is director/editor of the Media Giraffe Project at the Univ. of Massachusetts-Amherst, and the New England News Forum. The MGP, launched in March, 2005, is an effort to find and spotlight individuals making sustainable, innovative use of media (old and new) to foster participatory democracy and community. Holding a degree in environmental policy and communications, he is knowledgeable on Internet information technologies and business models. A career journalist, he has been an editor/writer for The Associated Press, for trade publications in business, law and insurance; and freelanced for general circulation dailies including the Boston Globe. He has written for ComputerWorld Magazine.

In 1993, after nine years owning and publishing weeklies in Berkshire County, Mass., Densmore formed what became Clickshare Service Corp., which provides user registration, authentication and transaction-handling for Internet web content sites (more about the concept). Joshua Wolf (born in 1982) is an American video blogger, freelance journalist, and filmmaker who was jailed by a Federal district court on August 1, 2006 for refusing to turn over a collection of videotapes he recorded during a July 2005 demonstration in San Francisco, California. Wolf served 226 days in prison at the Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, California, longer than any other journalist in U.S. history has served for protecting source materials. With permission from the prosecution, U.S. District Judge William Alsup ordered Wolf's release on April 3, 2007.

On July 4, 2007, Wolf announced that he had filed a declaration of intent to run for mayor of San Francisco against incumbent Gavin Newsom. He has been a media activist for years and has just begun a new project. At the conference he was offered $500 towards his $1500 funding needs. He was amongst the most insightful, creative, technologically able, new media activists at the conference.

Mike Palacek is a former Omaha resident who served five jail and prison terms during the 1980s for protests at Offutt Air Force Base. He crossed the line at the base on many occasions along with others to say no to the United States military and its surge toward global dominance. His incarcerations included the county jails in Omaha, Papillion, Lincoln and Council Bluffs and also included the federal prisons in Chicago, Terre Haute and El Paso.

A former seminarian for the Omaha archdiocese, Palecek once asked for sanctuary in the Cathedral rather than attend a sentencing hearing for an Offutt protest, in order to attempt to convince the Omaha Catholic Church to denounce the Strategic Air Command. The bishop denied Palecek's request. Even though the Cathedral was surrounded by FBI agents, Palecek was able to slip past them. He and his family then went underground for two weeks, pursued by the Omaha FBI office. He ended up giving himself up at a press conference in front of The Chancery, the offices of then Omaha archbishop Daniel Sheehan. Palecek then served six months in the Pottawattamie County Jail.

Palecek later went on to work for small-town newspapers in Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa.

In 1997 he left newspaper work to concentrate on writing novels. His works are based in the Midwest and feature individuals fighting against the general conservatism they find in their towns. A native of Norfolk, Nebraska, Palecek now lives with his family in Sheldon, Iowa.

He was the Iowa Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives, Fifth District, 2000 election and received 67,500 votes on anti-military, pro-immigration, anti-prison platform.

His novels include: Terror Nation, The American Dream, The Last Liberal Outlaw, Looking for Bigfoot, The Truth, Twins,Killing George Bush, Joe Coffee's Revolution. He also worked, in cooperation with William Strabala, to author a non-fiction work- Prophets Without Honor: A Requiem for Moral Behavior. He also co-edited Cost of Freedom- An Anthology of Anti-War Activism with Whitney Trettien & Michael Annis in 2007.

He just finished his 2008 Book Tour, and also did The American Dream Book Tour in 2007. He is a tireless activist.

How the Unsolved Murder of a Doctor, a Secret Laboratory in New Orleans and Cancer-Causing Monkey Viruses are Linked to Lee Harvey Oswald, the JFK Assassination and Emerging Global Epidemics. This is a remarkable book of an odyssey lasting many decades, by a native of New Orleans. In some way's a murder mystery, looking at a major cover-up by the government and the media, his book has received almost zero press, despite the fact that he brings to light a major witness to the assassination of JFK (Lee Harvey Oswald's ex-lover) who worked with Oswald, Ferrie and Mary Sherman in a secret laboratory developing cancer causing viruses, to be used as bio-weapons.

Ed Haslam, the author of Dr. Mary’s Monkey, was born in Kansas where his family had lived for several generations. His grand-parents were the school-teachers and country-doctors of the prairie. Shortly after his birth in 1951, his father (who had just returned from Harvard and the U.S. Navy) accepted a position teaching at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. During the next 35 years that Ed Haslam lived in New Orleans, he personally heard and saw things that involved the investigation into the Kennedy Assassination, the murder of one of his father colleagues, and claims of biological weapons to be used for political purposes. Haslam’s 1969 comment: “If there is a bizarre global epidemic involving cancer and a monkey virus thirty years from now, at least we’ll know where is came from” states his concerns clearly.

Haslam’s education was that of a well-placed New Orleans male. He attended Jesuit High School in the late-1960s. The background event of these years was Jim Garrison’s investigation into the JFK assassination. Haslam had teachers, classmates and friends whose family members were involved in the case in one way or another. This experience gave him an “insider perspective” of these events.

As the U.S. flag-bearer for Jesuit’s U.S. Marine Corps JROTC unit, he marched in many Mardi Gras parades and developed an interest in the “parade beat” music of this unusual city – an interest he was to pursue. After graduating from the demanding agenda of Jesuit High School, he studied Art History at Tulane University and further developed his interest in music and writing.

For most of the 1970s he worked with the legendary piano-player Professor Longhair, considered by many to the one of the Founding Fathers of Rock-and-Roll for his contributions to the style in the 1940s. In 1975, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney visited New Orleans to honor Professor Longhair and wrote the song “Rock Show” to commemorate his visit to Longhair’s concert which Haslam produced.

When Longhair died in 1980, Haslam got out of the music business to pursue a career in advertising. There he was able to use his creative, musical, art and writing skills as a Creative Director. His radio campaigns for Tabasco Pepper Sauce and his work for The Treasures of the Vatican art exhibit at the World’s Fair in New Orleans recall this period. It was during this time that he stumbled upon hard evidence connecting people involved in the JFK assassination investigation to the medical community in New Orleans. But the time was not right to speak out.

In the 1980s Haslam’s advertising career took him to Detroit where he managed advertising campaigns for the Chrysler Corporation – and where he made presentations to then-Chairman Lee Iacocca. In his word’s, “I went from Professor Longhair to Lee Iacocca in 8 years.”

In his final days in Detroit, as the AIDS epidemic fixed itself upon the media landscape, Haslam started questioning what he had seen and heard in New Orleans. He began work on a research project known as Mary, Ferrie & the Monkey Virus: The Story of an Underground Medical Laboratory. The book has expanded into the current version, which is in its third printing.

Made in L.A. has been shown on PBS and has received recognition nationally and internationally. It is a powerful tool to raise awareness and encourage people to stand up for themselves and their rights.

I received an email about a showing at Stanford University, a short bicycle ride from my home, where Almudena and Robert spoke and showed clips of their film. Later I returned for the screening, followed by a panel discussion. I was very impressed with the film, but also by the story behind the film -- Almudena and Robert's journey, adventure, and transformation as the project and the women's struggle grew organically and their personal lives took unexpected twists and turns.

The film may be complete, but the story never really ends. The most personal is often the most universal, and what the characters in the film and Almudena and Robert experienced in their project is deeply personal and very political. In the struggle for justice, people must always choose between their personal lives and the collective efforts in many struggles, on many levels.

There are multiple love stories behind this film. Almudena and Robert met, fell in love, and gave birth to this film. Within the stories of the three women is the story of a mother who left her children in order to support them and her family. One of the most heart-rending parts of the film is the mother’s concerns for her children, who seek to visit her but do not make it to L.A. The first question I asked after I saw the film was whether the mom ever was able to reunite with her children. In responding to this question, Almudena told us about a very teary, moved audience that witnessed the world premiere of the film in Washington, DC -- which also brought together the mother with her eldest son for the first time in over a decade. The film is a story of love and solidarity between workers and their families and between workers and other workers, across time, for the struggle of immigrants in sweatshops is not a new one, and continues to this day in countries throughout the world.

Jo Ann Lo is now a Co-Director of Enlace, a membership organization comprised of worker centers, unions and organizing groups in the U.S. and in Mexico engaged in base-building through organizing campaigns for economic and social justice. They seek to build the base of low wage workers to bring balance to the struggle between the rich and working poor.

Sometimes, when you start a project, you can't imagine the journey that awaits you.

When I started this film, more than five years ago, my goal was only to create a short documentary that portrayed the conditions of Latina immigrants at Los Angeles factories. But, in the five years the film took to complete, it slowly, unexpectedly, became an intimate portrait of an increasingly universal experience in today's globalized society: the struggle of recent immigrants to get a foothold, to learn their rights and to assert their voice in our society.

The project started when I read a newspaper story about sweatshops in Los Angeles. It talked about the deplorable conditions faced by immigrants working in some downtown garment factories: long hours, sub-minimum wage pay (or no pay), unsafe or unsanitary conditions, rats, roaches. I had hears of such conditions in other parts of the world, but I was shocked that they were also happening in one of the richest countries on Earth. I had already made a short documentary and so I set out to make a little film that would expose these issues and that would take about five months to complete. Or so I thought.

I approached Los Angeles’ Garment Worker Center, then newly opened, and started spending time there, sometimes filming, often just talking with workers. They were about to launch a campaign against a clothing retailer: a boycott and a lawsuit that would attempt to hold a retailer – Forever 21, which sells trendy clothes at cheap prices – accountable for the conditions where their clothes are made. The energy of those early days was electrifying and I filmed everything that I could. As I started to get to know the workers, I was struck by their need to tell their personal stories. Stories of why they came to this country, of why they were doing garment work, of their hopes and fears for their children. They were surprised, and proud, that I wanted to listen.

A very raw and rare intimacy came out in these moments and is captured in my early footage. Speaking in Spanish, my native language, being a woman, and working almost completely alone gradually inspired trust and allowed me to enter their lives. In order to portray this, I shot the film in an unobtrusive, intimate verité style. I also desired to capture the lyrical beauty and the details of this colorful, diverse Los Angeles that few outsiders experience.

The five months that I had planned to devote to the project passed quickly and yet I felt that I might only be at the beginning. As the film began to grow, I sought out collaborators and met my producing partner, Robert Bahar. Through our invaluable collaboration, we began to reshape the film from a little documentary on sweatshops to a feature story focusing on the lives of three of the amazing women I encountered at the center: María Pineda, Maura Colorado and Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez. I filmed them at home, at the noisy protests with their children, at meetings at the Garment Worker Center, virtually everywhere they’d allow me to follow them. I was so dedicated that Lupe used to tease me: Little camera, one day you’ll leave me alone!

Early in the filming, the Garment Worker Center launched a national tour to draw attention to their boycott campaign and lawsuit. I followed Lupe to New York, and it was the first time either of us had experienced the Big Apple. While there, Lupe visited the Lower East Side Tenement, which preserves the cramped home-based factories of early 20th century immigrant garment workers, and the Museum of Immigration at Ellis Island, through which millions of immigrants, for centuries, came to the United States. Those two visits are captured in the film and were deeply moving for both of us. Lupe saw pictures of the immigrants who came to New York in the early 20th Century. She saw how they lived, how hard they worked, and how they struggled to assert their rights. It’s just like today! was her immediate, gut reaction. That moment was an epiphany. She and I suddenly understood that the experience of Latino immigrants today resembles, in so many ways, the experiences of generations of immigrants who have come before them, from so many other places, in other times and through other ports of entry. The same struggle, the same hopes and dreams for a better life, for themselves and their children.

If Made in L.A. were to accomplish anything, I would hope that it would provide a deeply human window into this immigrants’ struggle, which is repeated around the world regardless of the country of origin or destiny. Wouldn’t you leave your children, no matter the danger, no matter the pain, in order to send back enough money to feed them, hoping to give them a better life? Wouldn’t you work day and night, no matter the physical and emotional drain, if you had four children to raise and you had no other options? And, wouldn’t you overcome your fears and stand up one day to demand your rights in the workplace if you were constantly humiliated, underpaid, even spat at? What would you do – or not do – in order to survive?

But what we did not anticipate is that their campaign would take three long years and the story would take another turn. Struggles cause people to change and, as the campaign dragged on, we were amazed to observe each woman’s growing sense of self-confidence and self-worth, their agency and empowerment. It then became clear to us that this was the real story and that their struggle against Forever 21 mattered not just for its own sake, but because it served as a catalyst for each of their individual stories. The story of María taking control and deciding to leave her husband. The story of Maura learning to cope with her fears and struggling to reunite with her children. The story of Lupe, who grew up feeling ugly and insignificant, becoming an organizer and one day reflecting on her path from atop Victoria’s Peak overlooking Hong Kong. Made in L.A. is a story about the decision to stand up, to say I exist. And I have rights.

I am humbled and honored to have been allowed to capture this on film. Like María, Maura and Lupe, at the end of a long journey, we all got something that we had never expected.

Samira Goetschel is the director of Our Own Private Bin Laden, her first full length documentary, made over a three-year time span. It explores Osama bin Laden's rise to notoriety without using a single image of its subject. It won the award for Best Foreign Documentary & Best Film of the Festival (non-European category) at the 2006, The European Independent Film Festival Paris, France and The Audience Award at the 2006, International Documentary Festival Seoul, South Korea.

Samira Goetschel was born in Iran and fled the country with her family after her father was executed by the government of Ayatollah Khomeini. She spent her formative years in the United States. An alumnus of New York University film school, Goetschel's graduating film Clown De La Vie was the Best Short Film winner at the 1992 New York State Film Festival. She earned a Masters of Arts degree at Columbia University, and followed her passion for filmmaking with the short film ¿ about the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.

Paul Krik spent a year on his bicycle touring the United States coast to coast from San Francisco to New Orleans in the year between earning his BA in Philosophy at Oberlin College and his MA at the University of Illlinois. He moved to Hamburg, wrote screenplays and worked in television, and then back to the US, to Los Angeles to make movies. In LA he quickly gave up marketing himself as writer and learned filmmaking at the School of Hard Knocks -- TV Commercial Production. He produced national TV commercials for a few years while building his 'Commercial Director's Reel'. He changed the title of the spec reel from 'Director' to 'Editor' and immediately took a job at TBWA Chiat/Day in San Francisco running their editorial department. He's been cutting national TV spots for more than 10 years now. Currently he lives with his German wife and ABLE DANGER co-producer, Katharina Lang, in New York -- where ABLE DANGER was shot. He is on staff at Jump Editorial (www.nycjump.com) in NOHO, New York City, where he edited the film as well.

Paul Krik's film is a riveting, fast paced, dramatic, action packed, beautifully produced artistic masterpiece. It weaves fact with fiction, reality and the surreal, the truth with half truths. There are obvious lies, white lies, black lies, innocent lies, deliberate lies lacing the dialogue, obscuring the truth, blurring the truth, protecting people, endangering people, tricking people, a labyrinth of manipulation, as if each person were a pawn in a great game, not knowing who is calling the moves, or how many players are competing. Throw in the sex, seduction, passions, intelligence operatives, cops, investigators, victims, bribery, money, and a plot moving so fast that the main character probably can’t figure out his own emotions between the competing fear, grief, terror, pain, pleasure, relief, uncertainty of an ever changing landscape of challenges.

When I finished watching it, my immediate reaction was the urge to see it again- to catch the details I had missed and to ponder and grok it more completely. It works and hopefully will reach a wider audience than the "documentary in church basement crowds." (Link to my review of the film).

Brown developed an interest in the developing world and its problems while living abroad for eleven years in Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. She returned to practicing law when she was asked to join the legal team of a popular Tijuana healer with an innovative cancer therapy, who was targeted by the chemotherapy industry in the 1990s. That experience produced her book Forbidden Medicine, which traces the suppression of natural health treatments to the same corrupting influences that have captured the money system. her recent articles include: April Fools: The Fox to Guard the Banking Henhouse and Another Way Around the Credit Crisis: Minnesota Bill Would Authorize State Banks to "Monetize" Productivity.

Richard Cook is a former federal government analyst who was one of the key figures in the investigation of the space shuttle Challenger disaster.

In 1985, he went to work for NASA as the lead resource analyst for the space shuttle solid rocket boosters, external tank, and Centaur upper stage. Cook’s first assignment led to his writing a memo on engineers’ concerns that flaws with the solid rocket booster O-ring seals could cause the shuttle to blow up. In 1986, after the Challenger disaster, he disrupted a NASA cover-up when he provided his memo, along with other documents on the hazards of the O-rings, to the New York Times. His disclosures paved the way for revelations by engineers from Morton Thiokol, Inc., about how they opposed the launch of Challenger the night before lift-off.

Called to testify before the Presidential Commission at an internationally televised public hearing, Cook stood his ground when his experience and competence were challenged. He continued to contribute to the investigation during interviews with Commission staff and the NASA Office of Inspector General and in meetings with Senator Ernest Hollings, who was trying to raise issues before the Senate on whether there had been White House pressure to launch Challenger.

In addition to extensive interviews with the media after the disaster, Cook published articles in the Washington Post, Washington Monthly, Space and Security News, and the Houston Post; gave a press conference with the Institute of Space and Security Studies, where he said that the Presidential Commission had been created to cover-up the role of the White House in the launch decision; and wrote a report which he submitted to the U.S. Justice Department with a request for a new investigation. In 1991, he was the recipient of the Cavallo Foundation Award for Moral Courage in Business and Government, sharing the award with Roger Boisjoly of Morton Thiokol.

Before joining NASA, Cook worked as an analyst for the U.S. Civil Service Commission, where he received extensive training in federal government operations. He then worked for the Food and Drug Administration and next served in the Jimmy Carter White House under Esther Peterson, special assistant to the president for consumer affairs. He also taught history at the Field School, a private high school in Washington, D.C.

Cook left NASA to become an analyst with the U.S. Treasury Department in 1986. There he developed and taught training courses on policy analysis and led project teams on financial policy and organizational restructuring. He authored Challenger Revealed- An Insider’s Account of How the Reagan Administration Caused the Greatest Tragedy of the Space Age in 2006.
He retired from the federal government in January 2007 and works today as a writer, lecturer, and consultant. His website is richardccook.com.

Cook graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He resides in College Park, Maryland.

One of his areas of interest has been the monetary system and he has written a series of articles about the current financial crisis including- Financial Meltdown: U.S. Treasury Regulatory Reform Proposals: Hapless, Helpless, Hopeless, Is an International Financial Conspiracy Driving World Events?, and An Emergency Program of Monetary Reform for the United States.

Janette MacKinlay is a visual artist, and a survivor of the World Trade Center attacks. On September 11th, she watched the drama unfold from her apartment across the street from the World Trade Center. Jim, a sculptor who shared the apartment, settled in to observe what was happening, thinking that the towers would burn "all day." When they started to come down, he warned Janette and they quickly hurried out their door as the debris shattered their windows and filled their apartment with dust and debris. Janette wrote a book about her experiences entitled Fortunate: A Personal Diary of 9/11 illustrated with photographs including the artwork, and ikebana flower arrangements she created, as part of her own efforts to heal. Exhibitions of her artwork, included Deception Dollars.

By cosmic synchronicity, the Deception Dollar artist emailed me her name and phone number on the very day that I met Janette, in person, in San Francisco where members of the 9/11 Commission were speaking before the Commonwealth Club. I traded her a David Ray Griffin book- The New Pearl Harbor for a copy of her book, and that was the beginning of our friendship and collaboration. Janette joined the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance and became a vital, active member, treasurer, host, organizer, speaker, as well as a liason between the West Coast and New York City, when she decided to return to her refurbished apartment when she discovered it was available to rent.

Janette also significantly contributed to our scientific understanding of the destruction of the towers, because she saved some of the dust that filled her apartment and passed it on to Steven Jones for analysis. Her sensitivty, experiences, insights, communications skills are acknowledged as priceless gifts to the Truth movement and she is deeply respected and loved by fellow activists.

In 1980 Adam and colleague Joseph Kahn designed and applied for patents for the Closed Path Homopolar Generator, a potentially revolutionary design for super efficient generation of electrical power. In June of 1982, International Letters of Patent were published by the International Patent Cooperation Treaty Organization. (Patent Publication Number WO82/02126)

In 1983 Adam began to dedicate his efforts to Project Earth. The late R Buckminster Fuller is quoted as saying, "Project Earth is a human design experiment. It will be incumbent on human beings throughout the Earth to become a living network, to demonstrate the power of working synergistically with their environment to insure a future worth living in."

In 1984 Adam was awarded the RJ Reynolds III Endowment for his efforts with Project Earth. Copies of his Closed Path Homopolar Generator Patent had circulated throughout the world. One scientist, Paramahamsa Tewari, who was then Head of Quality Control for the Tarapore Atomic Power Station in Trombay, India, received permission to carry out experiments with the design. In 1986, Tewari published results of experiments carried out with a crude facsimile of the machine described in the patent. In the American Industrial Journal, Magnets, Tewari wrote, 'The test results have shown an efficiency of the machine above 250%." It was the first time in human history that claims of greater than 100% output had been independently verified by a bona fide third party using the description of the art provided by a patent document.

Adam continued his research into new energy technologies with colleague David Farnsworth. In June, 1989, in New York City, Trombly and Farnsworth physically demonstrated a small solid state electrical transformer that measurably showed an efficiency of 54:1. Adam then walked down the street to the United Nations to give an address. The American people, in particular, have still not gotten the message that there is an entirely new and benign option to the current death spiral of humanity. Ignoring the opportunity that was presented on that day in 1989, the world still suffers under the tyranny of fossil fuels and a global power structure which seems bent on the eradication of all species.

Today Adam continues to pursue the work of Project Earth in spite of the fact that in his view the destabilization of Planet Earth has reached critical, even nearly irreversible proportions.

Glen Clancy, from Victoria, Auatralia, created "Fool Me Twice" described as "A documentary about the Australian government's lies about the East Timor massacres, the cover-up of the Bali Bombings and subsequent anti-terror laws." The 25 year old, Clancy is Australia's Dylan Avery (of Loose Change fame). The work was originally created to be viewed online, but Clancy is working on improving the resolution for larger screen and theatrical viewing and will be premiered at the conference. He also has a double degree in arts and commerce, majoring in Japanese and Finance. He was extremely interested in politics from an early age until the Australian government committed to helping invade Iraq. Seeing Loose Change re-invigorated him and persuaded him that finally the criminals who had orchestrated the wars of the past century could finally be brought to justice. editor back in 1969. His

"WEATHER WARFARE:
The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature." It is a follow up to his
1998 best seller "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy."

His interest in technology and its impact on society began early. At the impressionable age of eight he read Robert A. Heinlein’s Have Spacesuit, Will Travel, in which the teenaged hero is brought into an intergalactic court and forced to defend why humanity should not be terminated. That introduction to science- or speculative-fiction, which forced the reader to think, was overpowering. By age twelve he had read every sci-fi book in the local library; by the time he passed out of his teens he had read over 10,000 sci-fi and fantasy novels. He also became fascinated with ancient history and had read many of the surviving plays and epics of ancient Greece, Rome and Norse mythology. In school he excelled in social studies and history. He began a life-long study of the world’s great religions and philosophies.

He also became an activist, involved initially in the Civil Rights, and then the Anti-War movements. In 1967-68 he campaigned for Dick Gregory’s write-in bid for the Presidency.

Jerry’s first national magazine exposure under his own name was the article Star Trek: Sci-fi or Psy-war? Since the publication of "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon" in 1998, Jerry continues to speak publicly, research, and write about geo-politics and emerging technologies that threaten our freedoms.

WEATHER WARFARE: The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature is scientific reporting at a layman's level. He presents evidence from military and scientific sources that intentional environmental modification (EnMod) is the 600-pound gorilla at the global warming debate that everyone is pretending isn't there.

His earlier book was about the "who" and "why" behind the HAARP program, Weather Warfare documents the reality of intentional EnMod, and the threat to health and security it poses.

The heart of WEATHER WARFARE is proof that EnMod is science fact and that we have neither the political nor legal infrastructure in place to deal with this technology. Addressed at length is the dismal failure of the 1978 United Nations EnMod Convention, which prohibits the use of environmental modification as a weapon of war. The unaddressed issue of ongoing intentional EnMod by various militaries, terrorists and civilians is a key factor skewing the evidence in the global warming/climate change debate and as such is of gravest importance. The politics of the 21st century, and possibly our survival as a species, will turn on how this debate plays out.

Despite the title, it is not just "The Military." It is about the whole environment: earth, air and sea; it is about a lot of players: academic, commercial and military; with a lot of objectives: financial, militaristic and political.

There is substantial difference between climate and weather. Robert A.Heinlein wrote "climate is what you expect, weather is what you get." Mainstream science recognizes that man does have the ability to alter the weather on a limited scale intentionally, and to alter the climate on a vast scale unintentionally. Jerry presents evidence that what can be done intentionally is far greater than what the mainstream is willing to or able to admit.

He looks at the history of "weather control" from the Rain Makers of the 1890s through the development of cloud seeding in the middle of the twentieth century, to today's "off the shelf" technologies of precipitation enhancement, hail suppression and fog dispersal. He looks at programs to manipulate hurricanes, such as Project Cirrus and Project Stormfury, and what evidence there is of being able to control hurricanes in the 21st Century.

It also covers Defense Secretary Cohen's claim that "Others ... can ... set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves." Starting with Nicola Tesla's earthquake machine of the 1890s he traces the possibility of "earthquakes on demand" from the development of a "tsunami bomb" during World War II (as revealed by documents recently declassified by the New Zealand government), through Project Faultless which caused a massive earthquake in the Nevada desert after a high yield atom bomb was intentionally detonated on a fault line, to evidences of human initiation of several major quakes.

The US Air Force insists that it has no interest in "controlling the weather" yet HAARP represents the expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars and a decade of research and construction in a program whose avowed purpose is to modify the atmosphere. What, if any, is the difference between "modifying the atmosphere" and "controlling the weather"?

WEATHER WARFARE also examines claims that chemicals are being deliberately injected into our atmosphere by high-flying planes that are criss-crossing our skies with "chemtrails." First I examine the environmental issues associated with jet aircraft condensation trails (contrails), which are indeed grave. Then he looks at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and numerous other national and international panels of scientists which have extensively, and expensively, studied ways to mitigate global warming through schemes called "geo-engineering."

Edward Teller, father of the hydrogen bomb and Associate Director of LLNL, actually advocated putting up a "sunscreen" to save the Earth. He proposed injecting aluminum and barium dust particles high into the atmosphere to increase the amount of solar energy being reflected out into space as a way to offset the heating by greenhouse gases.

Many scientific boards and committees have looked into this proposal and found it technologically feasible, but recognized that the legal and environmental hurdles would be too high to overcome to implement such a project--if done openly, so some proposed doing it covertly.

Weather as a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather in 2025 is a study designed to comply with a directive from the chief of staff of the Air Force to examine the concepts, capabilities, and technologies the United States will require to remain the dominant air and space force in the future. Presented on 17 June 1996, this report was produced in the Department of Defense school environment of academic freedom and in the interest of advancing concepts related to national defense. The SHELL GAME is far more than a thriller, it is a MUST-READ cautionary tale that exposes the next “9/11 event” a deception that will lead to a retaliatory chemical weapons strike on Iran and the terrorist elements the regime supports. The United States’ military is too drained to invade Iran, and a preemptive strike is out of the question...unless a nuclear detonation were to occur on in American city -- the enriched uranium traced back to Iran. A U.S. reprisal would strike a death-blow against radical Islam, quell the insurgent violence in Iraq...and yield more oil. Yes, the cost is unthinkable – but if we sit back and do nothing then one day a dozen suitcase bombs could go off in a dozen American cities – bringing with it anarchy and the collapse of Western civilization.

Sander Hicks is one of the most colorful media activists of his generation. He runs the Drench Kiss Media Corporation's retail dynamo, "Vox Pop." The place for "Books, Coffee, Democracy," Vox Pop is a vibrant, fair-trade, community-empowering, consciousness-raising space, on Cortelyou Road, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. In three years, Vox Pop has spawned new activist groups, redefined "community development", and published a muck-raking tabloid, The New York Megaphone.

In 1996, he founded Soft Skull Press, Inc. (acquired in 2007 by Winton & Shoemaker). In 2003, Hicks was star of "Horns and Halos" (HBO/Cinemax) the independent publishing documentary that recorded Hicks’s attempts to get unpopular truths out about G.W. Bush, through the biography Fortunate Son (Soft Skull, 1999). His own book, The Big Wedding (Vox Pop, 2005) broke new ground on the working-class intelligence assets and whistle-blowers who tried to stop 9/11 from happening. Hicks has reported for Alternet, GNN, Long Island Press, New York Press, and INN World Report Television (FSTV, Dish Network).

Phil Burk founded ImpeachBush.tv in December of 2000, before the inauguration of George Bush. The efforts made by the Bush team to avoid counting votes in Florida led Phil to believe that George Bush might abuse his Presidential authority once in power.

His website provides information about the process and history of impeachment, and describes impeachable offenses committed by Bush. One focus of his group has been to help cities and states pass local impeachment resolutions. Phil helped draft the impeachment resolutions used by the California, New Mexico, Missouri and Washington state legislatures.

Since retiring in 2004 from her position of Assistant United States Attorney in San Jose, California, where she was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force, and chief of the office for several years, Ms. de la Vega has been writing about legal and political issues.

Together, we will look at what is happening across the country and what people can do to make Impeachment a reality this year. Here are some of the things they urged folks to do:

John shared his own personal transformation story and details of his amazing march through winter along the path laid down by our country's founders. He should be an inspiration to any who have not yet taken to the streets, and urged people, who weren't quite ready to make such a huge committment to at least give Nancy Pelosi a call and urge her to put Impeachment on the table (Her phone number is: 202-225-0100). He also urged people to simnply raise the issue one on one with people they know or oeven people they don't know- as the public has a responsibility to educate one another, in light of the failure of the corporate media.

David Swanson noted that more and more candidates are pushing for Impeachment, as part of their platform. He also said that Kucinich would be a resolution introducing articles of impeachment against George W. Bush in January. He also said that there is a national campaign underway to phone/fax/email/pressure Congress to move forward on Impeachment on January 15th & 16th.

Vanessa German is a performance and visual artist currently based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her mixed media sculptural works gather inspiration from the Kongo "Nkisi" power figures, Mexican iconography, and the many potent, tragic, and stark realities of present day life. Seeking to create work that evokes not only the visceral emotional response of spirit and memory, Vanessa's work also seeks to create a visual contemporary ritual iconography relevant to the realities of the modern world; to employ objects with the power to invoke. Recent exhibitions include "Celebration of Visual Traditions", touring PA through 2008; "Migrations" at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts; "In Our House", at 937 Liberty Avenue, and "Objectification" at Gallerie Chiz.

German has shown and performed throughout the country. A featured performer at the International Arts Festival in Grahmstown, South Africa, Vanessa's performance poetry could be seen and heard in Germany, Sweden, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Olympia, and New Mexico.

Vanessa was a 2005 and 2006 nominee for Emerging Artist of the Year at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. She is the National Slam Bush Champion, Ink Tank Slam Champion, and was voted Best Spoken-word Poet by the Pittsburgh City Paper. Other performance credits include August Wilson's “The Piano Lesson”, “Seven Guitars”, and Jo Turner’s Come and Gone”; "Fire", her performance project with the Three Rivers Arts Festival, and this spring's Kuntu Repertory Theater production of "Relativity".

She says:

I met Vanessa at the Storyfield Conference last August, where the mantle of organizing the next conference landed on her shoulders. As a teacher, she is currently working on a project that was born out of Storyfield, to enable students to create "Vision videos"- individual and collective videos expressing hopeful visions for the future.

P.S.On the day we did this show, I became violently ill, unfortunately it was very sudden and started only minutes before the show began, so I finally gave up at one hour and forty-five minutes into the show. We actually thought I had appendicitis, and my husband called 911, and I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I was diagnosed with having a kidney stone. Eventually, I was stabilized and sent home, and I'll be taking a rest and recuperating with family over the holidays.

I felt very badly about not finishing the show, especially since I have great love and respect for Vanessa. I did want to share my favorite poem with her, but was unable to do so. So let me, at least, post it here:

Jason King is an activist, parent and graphic designer and a major force behind Boston911Truth.org and the Boston Tea Parties for 9/11 Truth. He is also on the steering committee of 911Truth.org/.

At the age of 17 he participated in the 1971 May Day demonstrations, and was a plaintiff in the class action suit Dellums v. Powell conducted through the ACLU, which established the precedent for monetary compensation for the violation of one's constitutional rights. The Supreme Court later cited this case as a precedent in the decision to grant compensation to Japanese Americans who in WWII were interned in American prison camps.

From a family of WWII veterans, Mr. King's role has been to fight the injustices of war itself by lending his talents as a graphic artist to many organizations in campaigns to end the wars waged, from Vietnam to Iraq. In the 1980's Mr. King was a member of Communicators for Nuclear Disarmament, a media and design clearinghouse for the Nuclear Freeze movement. His goal is to continue creating professional level design and creative teams, to convey the urgent message of our time regarding the unanswered questions 9/11. Mr. King maintains that peace and truth are American values that transcend political ideologies, and that the fundamental principals of our republic enshrined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights need to be restored.

Mia Hamel is an activist in Florida, who has also helped with 9/11 Truth Conferences, and communications through her White Rose Newsletter. She was arrested for leafletting at the premiere of Oliver Stone's film World Trade Center exercising her first amendment rights in an act of civil disobedience. She is a courageous, inspiring person showing how one person can and does make difference.

Dylan Avery wanted to make films. He was told by the famous actor, James Gandolfini, "If you want to be a successful director, you have to have something to say to the world." His first foray was a fictional film about some guys who found out that 9/11 was was not a terrorist attack, but rather, an attack by their own government.

In the process of making the film, the evidence began adding up. Dylan took the heroic path of seeking and speaking truth, capturing the attention of an entire generation with- the internet blockbuster- Loose Change. In a very organic way, he and his friends began traveling to promote the film, speaking to audiences across the country. They garnered media attention and harsh criticisms from researchers within the 9/11 Truth Movement.

Dylan and his friends continued to do research, learn from their critics, work with the activists, bond with the victims, support those who risked their lives to save lives at Ground Zero and suffered the devastating health effects of the toxic dust. Dylan grew, the film evolved, and evolved again. With facts checked and given the warm approval of our esteemed researcher, David Ray Griffin, they have produced a third edition of the original idea - "Loose Change - Final Cut" released November 11th, debuting in the U.K., then the East Coast, and now premiering in the West Coast. Dylan and Jason Bermas will be at the premieres, along with local musician Remo Conscious who produced the soundtracks for the films. They will also be participating in the second San Francisco Tea Party for 9/11 Truth, held in Solidarity with the Boston Tea Party, on the 234th Anniversary of the first Boston Tea Party- Sunday, December 16, 2007.

The Tea Parties

From Boston to San Francisco, modern patriots will express their rejection of Bush’s tyrannical laws and their demand for a genuine investigation of 9/11--as well as their demand for impeachment--by tossing, burning or shredding into oceans, rivers, and barbecue pits the rejected 9/11 Report, the PATRIOT Act, the Military Commissions Act, Presidential Directive 51, and H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.

In solidarity with Boston 9/11 Truth’s re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party, the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance will echo the call for all Americans to cast off the tyranny, deceit and lies imposed on the American public since 9/11/2001.

At 12 noon on December 16th in San Francisco, costumed activists will rally at Pier 39, bearing oversized replicas of the flawed 9/11 Report and other tyrannical, offensive documents, ringing bells, and making proclamations. The activists will parade westward past Fisherman’s Wharf to rally again at 2 pm at the foot of Hyde Street Pier, before a final march through Aquatic Park to the end of Municipal Pier where at 3 pm the replicas will be thrown into the Bay.

The 9/11 Truth Movement is highly critical of the omissions and distortions of the official 9/11 Commission Report, which failed to answer the majority of the questions posed by the families of 9/11 victims. Many scientists--and even greater numbers of experienced professionals, from pilots to retired intelligence officials--are challenging the Commission’s findings and the NIST Report and calling for the release of evidence that the government has withheld.

H.R. 1955, in its heavy-handed measures to prevent homegrown terrorism, is reminiscent of “A Proclamation for Suppressing Rebellion and Sedition” issued by King George III in 1775, which had the effect of transforming loyal subjects into traitorous rebels and ordering all colonists "to use their utmost endeavours to withstand and suppress such rebellion." In Congressional hearings, those who dare to raise legitimate questions about the government’s account of 9/11 are now being branded as terrorists. Congress has joined the Executive branch in declaring war upon citizens who oppose war and defend the Constitution.

The San Francisco Tea Party for 9/11 Truth will feature the reading of a formal proclamation, which concludes as follows:

“Therefore, we the people… REJECT the findings in the official 9/11 and NIST Report, the PATRIOT ACT, the Military Commissions Act, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and Presidential Directive 51, and DEMAND the release of documents and evidence withheld by the government, and an IMMEDIATE, genuinely independent 9/11 investigation with subpoena powers, independent 9/11 researchers, and oversight by 9/11 families and concerned citizens. We DEMAND that Congress members uphold their oath of office to defend our Constitution, exercise executive oversight, and IMPEACH the President and Vice President before they commit more crimes against our nation and the world through deceptions, lies, and war.
