State Senator Karen Johnson recently peened an Op-Ed entitled We deserve the full truth about 9/11 and came out publicly in support of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. She wrote to those who applauded her for speaking out:

Just to tell you a little bit more about myself, I’ve been looking at the 9/11 controversy for quite awhile. I’ve attended a number of lectures, have read many articles, and I think I’ve watched every DVD out there. I also have looked at many web sites. As a legislator, I’ve learned that it’s very important to hear all sides of an issue. I’m very appreciative of the work of Richard Gage and Dr. Steven Jones and so many others who have been doing research and leading the effort to get a new investigation. This research has persuaded me that I needed to stand up and be counted. My husband, Jerry, is very supportive of me (but he’s sick of attending meetings after all these years!) and my concerns about the 9/11 investigation. We have 33 grandchildren with one on the way, and we don’t want to leave them a society where people cannot get honest answers to reasonable questions.

Eric Larsen is the author of A Nation Gone Blind: America in an Age of Simplification and Deceit and recently penned- The Debate Over 9/11- NOTES FROM A DYING NATION Number Three. His powerful voice and website have been muted mysteriously and deserve to be heard.

Eric Larsen was born in Northfield, Minnesota, where, after attending the public schools, he graduated from Carleton College in 1963. He took an M.A. in English from the University of Iowa and in 1971 completed his Ph.D. there, with Robert Scholes as one of his faculty advisors. For his dissertation, under the direction of William Cotter Murray, he wrote a volume of original stories accompanied by his own critical commentaries.

In 1971, after living abroad for two years, Larsen joined the English Department of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, and remained there until his retirement in early 2006. He is married to the editor Anne Larsen. The couple have two grown daughters.

Larsen published stories and essays in quarterlies and magazines throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and in 1988 Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill brought out his novel “An American Memory,” which became the winner of the Chicago Tribune’s inaugural Heartland Prize for the year’s best novel of or about the middle west.

In 1992, Algonquin published “I Am Zoë Handke,” a novel complementing and advancing several of the elements and themes of “An American Memory.” Changes in the national mood, in reading habits, in academics, and in popular taste from the early 1990s on brought about a situation whereby Larsen’s third and fourth novels (“The End of the 19th Century” and “The Decline and Fall of the American Nation”), making up a tetralogy, remain unpublished. In spring 2006, Shoemaker & Hoard published his book of political and cultural criticism, “A Nation Gone Blind: America in an Age of Simplification and Deceit.” Here is a great review posted at Online Journal.

Phil Burk is a software and hardware developer who has kept up the outstanding impeachment website- www.impeachbush.tv and has publicly championed Impeachment at various forums, most recently in New Hampshire to push for an Impeachment Resolution.

Dr. Barbara G. Ellis has been working tirelessly for impeachment and will speak about the "Nixon Flooding Plan," the impeachment ad that ran in Roll Call which all members of congress receive. She also believes another high crime might be reason enough to impeach Bush- the illegal 29- 150 Billion dollar bailout that Bush urged the Federal Reserve to give to Morgan Chase to bail out Bear Stearns. (See Gretchen Morgenson's recent NYT's article-what a Deal: Trash for Treasuries.)

Ellis worked her way to a Pacific University BA as a reporter/photographer/copyeditor for the Forest Grove News-Times. It was training that led her to be a LIFE magazine reporter, then editorial page editor and writer for the Beirut (Lebanon) Daily Star, copyeditor at the Washington (DC) Evening Star,
associate editor at International Medical News Group, and publications director for Portland's Standard Insurance Co. Ellis was an assistant professor of technical journalism at Oregon State University, and assistant chair and professor of mass communication at Louisiana's McNeese State University. She has written six books,
one of which— The Moving Appeal —was nominated for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize in history. She is the principal in Ellis Associates, LLC of Portland, a free-lance writing firm, and involved in screenwriting and political journalism and activism. Ellis holds an MA in journalism from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate in English from Oregon State. A local activist, she's a member of the South Side DemocracyforAmerica Meetup Group, the Portland chapter of We the People National Coalition for Impeachment, a campaigner for Steve Novick's senatorial race, and a member of Portland's 9/11 Truth Alliance as well as being one of the 650 members of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice organization. She was married to a National Geographic senior writer and has two grown children, one granddaughter.

Carol Wolman has worked tirelessly for impeachment. In 2006 she was a write in Congressional candidate for Impeachment, this year she is on the ballot as a Green Party Candidate for Impeachment. She has also been working to build The Longhouse Coalition and the New Broom Coalition to build a stronger grassroots movement to support people who favor peace over war, people over corporations, planet over profits, justice. She has practiced psychiatry for many years and penned many excellent articles including- Is the President Nuts?. Her husband and son have also contributed to her work and produced a film entitled- High Crimes and Atrocities documenting the grounds for impeachment.

Brad Newsham organized multiple Beach Impeach events. He is also an author who has published accounts of his travels ( Take Me With You & All the Right Places )and drives a cab. Recently he announced his committment to run for Congress as a write-in candidate against Barbara Lee because she is not pushing for Impeachment. He is part of a growing coalition of Impeachment candidates and is urging people to run as write-in Impeachment candidates in every Congressional district across the nation.

Cynthia Papermaster is a law librarian, peace activist, and mother living in Berkeley, California. She works with Code Pink and several impeachment groups. Most recently she organized two rallies in San Francisco on President's Day to Give Cheney the Pink Slip. A great video was posted on Indybay.org, as well as an article A Presidents Day to Remember (with photos by Robert Livingston). She is also running for Congress on an Impeachment platform against Pete Stark in California's 13th District.

Larry Pinkney is a veteran of the Black Panther Party, the former Minister of Interior of the Republic of New Africa, a former political prisoner and the only American to have successfully self-authored his civil/political rights case to the United Nations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Why was he a political prisoner? The following excerpt from his FBI file, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, speaks for itself:

"Pinkney is potentially dangerous due to his demonstrated ability to unify black and white. His associates are Negro, White, and Chinese. Special attention is being given to neutralizing him. The areas of sex and drugs appear to be the most effective ones to utilize. His habits in these areas are unknown, but are being monitored with this objective. The FBI is working in conjunction with [blacked out, but a covering note to the U.S. Secret Service, San Francisco, accompanies this]."

As the curent regime grows more and more blatantly tyrannical and oppressive, resistance against it mounts. Power concedes nothing without a struggle, and generally tries to make the mildest and most cosmetic of reforms, if possible, in order to maintain control. Phil Burk founded ImpeachBush.tv in December of 2000, before the inauguration of George Bush. The efforts made by the Bush team to avoid counting votes in Florida led Phil to believe that George Bush might abuse his Presidential authority once in power.

His website provides information about the process and history of impeachment, and describes impeachable offenses committed by Bush. One focus of his group has been to help cities and states pass local impeachment resolutions. Phil helped draft the impeachment resolutions used by the California, New Mexico, Missouri and Washington state legislatures.

Phil works closely with the National Impeachment Network, a group of activists from AfterDowningStreet.org, Democrats.com, ImpeachForPeace.org, Progressive Democrats of America, and others.

Phil is a businessman and American citizen who believes that the rule of law should apply at every level of society.

Elizabeth de la Vega is the author of "United States v. George W. Bush et al," in which she uses her 20 years of experience as a federal prosecutor to present a hypothetical grand jury presentation setting forth the pre-war intelligence fraud committed by Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and Powell. Since retiring in 2004 from her position of Assistant United States Attorney in San Jose, California, where she was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force, and chief of the office for several years, Ms. de la Vega has been writing about legal and political issues.

In the second hour, John Nirenberg has been walking from Boston to Washington DC to pressure Nancy Pelosi to move forward with impeachment. His website- http://www.marchinmyname.org/ reveals this about him:

"I was born in the midst of the Nuremberg Trials. I grew up conscious of that place as both the beginning of the hate and violence that destroyed all of Europe, and the trials that confirmed a powerful moral sense of what is acceptable and unacceptable even in the depths of war.

As a child I watched all the war movies and believed we Americans really were different and that we fought for a noble cause. I believed in the supremacy of freedom over fascism, I surely thought our glory was based on doing the right thing and our victory showed the power of real democracy.

But even as a child I was puzzled about how the world could sink so low. How could a civilized country like Germany turn into a nightmare of fear, violence and wanton destruction? Watching the movies and seeing a nation turn on one scapegoat after another I asked myself, “when do you see the evil for what it is and resist it?” For me, I know the time is now. I am appalled that Americans are actually debating the usefulness of torture techniques and that the Government of the United States is systematically torturing people in the name of freedom and security. As I write this, knowing that President Bush and Vice President Cheney actively support these methods, my skin shudders with anger and fear. Anger because we have stooped so low. Fear because all of what we have cherished as a nation - indeed, all of the great things about the United States that we have shown the world - are being destroyed by the current administration. It isn’t just that this administration authorizes torture, that is reason enough for me to take this action, but Bush and Cheney have placed themselves above the law. And that is the first step of all dictators and tyrants.

I am not an activist. The defense of the Constitution isn’t ideological. I march because it is essential to stand up to this shame. I march also because I am fortunate enough to do so. I march for everyone uncomfortable with movements, organizers and radicals, but who understand the dire straights we’re in. This is about saving our Constitution. This is about restoring the promise of America. This is about doing what I can as a citizen. This is about shaking the Congressional leadership out of their complacency so that they, too, see the urgency and the importance of their action to right a host of perilous wrongs perpetrated by Bush and Cheney.

Finally, I need to walk because as a citizen it is all I can think to do that demonstrates how important this is to me. I can’t sit back any longer satisfied with my outrage. It isn’t enough. So I am doing this for me and, I hope, for you.

A Little Bit More About the Project

This project developed rather spontaneously after one Bush/Cheney outrage too many finally moved me to literally walk my talk. My first job when I was discharged from the Air Force was teaching high school social studies including American History. It was during the Nixon era a year before he resigned. When he resigned I was overjoyed that it proved to the whole world our system of checks and balances and the very ideals I taught were alive and well.

I moved on to study organizational systems and taught management at the collegiate level on three continents. I was fortunate enough to see the world and to confirm my suspicions that our democracy, as imperfect as it is, still works. I never dreamed that it would be hijacked and that my return to active citizenship would be in a time of another Constitutional crisis. I certainly didn’t think my return to active citizenship would be because the institutions I assumed would look after the Constitution would abandon it.

I have decided to undertake this walk from historic Faneuil Hall in Boston to Nancy Pelosi’s office in Washington D.C. because I’ve written the letters, spoken with my Congressman, and been patient while the Democrats settled into their leadership role. I hoped they would do the right thing. But they haven’t. Impeachment is “off the table.”

This effort is to put it back on the table."

Together, we will look at what is happening across the country and what people can do to make Impeachment a reality this year. Here are some of the things they urged folks to do:

John shared his own personal transformation story and details of his amazing march through winter along the path laid down by our country's founders. He should be an inspiration to any who have not yet taken to the streets, and urged people, who weren't quite ready to make such a huge committment to at least give Nancy Pelosi a call and urge her to put Impeachment on the table (Her phone number is: 202-225-0100). He also urged people to simnply raise the issue one on one with people they know or oeven people they don't know- as the public has a responsibility to educate one another, in light of the failure of the corporate media.

David Swanson noted that more and more candidates are pushing for Impeachment, as part of their platform. He also said that Kucinich would be a resolution introducing articles of impeachment against George W. Bush in January. He also said that there is a national campaign underway to phone/fax/email/pressure Congress to move forward on Impeachment on January 15th & 16th.

He urged people to sign Wexler's petition at wexlerwantshearings.com, call Congress, visit their offices, do actions, do civil disobedience, write op-eds, write letters to the newspapers, join protests, be creative and do whatever you can think of to raise the Impeachment issue and broadcast your support of Impeachment to the world.

Matthew Sullivan is founder and editor of the Rock Creek Free Press, a small independent newspaper in Washington, DC. He is also a member of dc911truth.org, a driving force in the 9/11 Truth Movement in the nation's capitol.

Trained in Chemistry at the University of Delaware he worked as a R&D engineer at HP before taking graduate training in chemistry at the University of Texas in Austin. It was in Austin where he met his wife, Elaine and also where he became involved with the nascent Dell Computer Corporation, where he worked for 7 years, until 1993.

Matt now lives with his wife and son in his home town of Bethesda, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC, since 1993 and has been involved in the 9/11 truth movement since early 2005.

Peter Thottam is a 9/11 Truth activist in Los Angeles, a former US State Assembly Candidate for the 53rd District, Green Party member and Attorney residing in Venice, California. He is the moving force behind the new Los Angeles Impeachment Center which opened July 4th 2007, and drew much media coverage, including a lead article on impeachment in the Los Angeles Times.

Peter received his undergraduate degree with honors from Yale University where he majored in both (1) Economics and (2) Ethics, Government & Philosophy. He has a law degree from UC Berkeley's Boalt School of Law and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Business.

A longtime activist, a former Democrat and an active member of the Green Party since 1998, Peter was so appalled at the deteriorating media coverage in the USA and so convinced that a tragic and mistaken war with Iraq was pending that he actually resigned from his job as a West LA Corporate Attorney in 2002 in order to focus exclusively on his antiwar work with various antiwar and progressive groups. Peter spent a full year completely dedicated to organizing marches, teach-ins and political lobbying efforts in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York and working actively with ANSWERLA, 9/11TruthLA with the Green Party, Progressive Democrats and with Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace.

Born in Africa and coming from an Indian background, Mr. Thottam is also fluent in Spanish. He believes it is critical to internationalize his district's local economy and global sister city outreach efforts as well to encourage cultural cross-communications and understanding for existing residents. He has traveled extensively in Mexico and throughout Africa, South Asia and East Asia.

Peter and other activists were successful in introducing two important resolutions at the recent U.S. Social Forum in Atlanta, one on impeachment, the other on demanding a real investigation of 9/11.

Here are the texts of the resolutions:

US Social Forum Resolution calling for the impeachment, conviction and removal from office of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the 2007 U.S. Social Forum's Charter of Principles we are united in our opposition to "...any form of imperialism, and are committed to building a planetary society..." and are united in the common purpose of social, economic and political justice; and

WHEREAS, President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard B. Cheney have repeatedly and intentionally violated the Constitution of the United States causing the People to question the integrity of both the President and Vice President and to suspect that high crimes and misdemeanors have been committed. These violations include but are not limited to:

* Violating the People's Constitutional right to privacy in their persons and papers by engaging in a persistent, secret and unregulated pattern of domestic surveillance that bypasses the institution (FISA) established for that purpose.

* Conspiring to deprive United States citizens of Constitutional legal protections and access to Justice when charged with or suspected of crimes.


* Exceeding Constitutional Authority to wage war by invading a sovereign nation in direct defiance of the United Nations Security Council.

* Acting upon an interpretation of the Constitution (the "unitary executive") that ignores standard Separation of Powers and regards the Presidency as unlimited in ability to wage war, bypass civil liberties and remain above the law.

WHEREAS, President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard B. Cheney repeatedly and intentionally misled the Congress, the International Community and the American People as to the risks posed by Iraq, as well as other groups or nations. These misrepresentations, and the actions they triggered, resulted in substantial loss of life to the People of the United States, loss of national treasure and the diminution of our nation's standing in the world. Such misrepresentations include:

* Influencing, manipulating and distorting intelligence prepared by national agencies such as the CIA, NSA and FBI, so as to present a biased view of events that would support specific strategies favored by the Administration.

* Knowingly and publicly presenting untrue statements regarding Saddam Hussein's acquiring uranium resources from Africa as part of a reconstituted Nuclear Program, as well as additional untrue statements that Iraq had fully active Chemical and Biological Programs as well.

* Presenting doctored photographs and satellite images to the domestic and international community to support such lies and manipulations.

WHEREAS, President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard B. Cheney have engaged in a pattern of behavior considered to be War Crimes per the Geneva Accords, United Nations Charter and other international treaties to which the United States is a signatory. This behavior includes use of torture, rendering persons to a third party where they will undergo torture and confinement without access to courts of law.

WHEREAS, President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard B. Cheney have abused their powers under the Constitution plus engaged in a pattern of lying and deceit to cover up such abuses. These abuses include:

* Excessive and obstructive use of Presidential Signing Statements as a strategy to bypass the execution of duly passed legislation as required under the Constitution's separation of powers doctrine.

* Prohibiting, delaying and limiting cabinet members and staff members of the Administration from providing information to Congress in support of Congress' standard oversight role. .

* Revealing the identity of a covert CIA agent (Valerie Plame) engaged in Middle East intelligence work, presumably as a response to policy criticism by her spouse (Ambassador Wilson).

* Undermining the integrity, readiness and efficacy of governmental agencies such that the People are not reliably served and have reason to doubt the fair and equitable use of national resources. Examples include the Department of Justice, Veterans Administration, FE MA, National Guard, no-bid/no-oversight of government contracting and deployment of our nation's Armed Forces without providing for sufficient equipment, training and mission planning.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2007 United States Social Forum, the first United States Social Forum, supports the impeachment of George W. Bush, President of the United States and Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United States for high crimes and misdemeanors and if found guilty be removed from office.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to every Member of Congress.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the 2007 U.S. Social Forum's Charter of Principles we are united in our opposition to "...any form of imperialism, and are committed to building a planetary society..." and are united in the common purpose of social, economic and political justice; and

WHEREAS, the attacks of September 11, 2001 have been consistently used by the U.S. government as the basis for preemptive illegal wars and empire building, commonly known as the "Bush Doctrine"; and

WHEREAS, the so-called "war on terrorism" has become an excuse for the unprecedented destruction of civil liberties, the erosion of constitutional rights, of domestic surveillance of U.S. citizens, and illegal detention of immigrants; and

WHEREAS, the vast economic, intellectual and psychological resources of the American people has been redirected away from needy communities and towards the pursuit of endless war and global hegemony in a marriage of corporatism and policy; and

WHEREAS, the 9/11 Commission and their resulting report were clearly compromised by conflicts of interest and ignored, distorted and omitted numerous crucial facts surrounding the attacks of September 11 2001 to fit the officially sanctioned story; and

WHEREAS, members of at least 80 countries died on September 11, 2001; and

WHEREAS, according to numerous national polls, as much as 84% of Americans state they have significant unanswered questions about the events of September 11, 2001;

WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE 2007 UNITED STATES SOCIAL FORUM, HEREBY RESOLVE:

To support and pursue the growing calls for a new, international and fully independent investigation into the causes and events surrounding the attacks on September 11, 2001.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to every Member of Congress.

We will be discussing our local impeachment efforts, media coverage of the impeachment issues, mobilizing greater support for impeachment.

Dr. Robert Bowman is a Lt. Col., USAF, ret. He directed all DoD “Star Wars” programs under presidents Ford and Carter, and he retired as Presiding Archbishop of the United Catholic Church. His Ph.D. is in Aeronautics & Nuclear Engineering from Cal Tech. He has lectured at the National War College, the United Nations, the Academies of Science of six nations, and the House of Lords. He ran for Congress in 2006, and was one of the few 9/11 Truth candidates. Currently, he is on a 2007 Patriots Tour.

Dr. Bowman’s mission is to educate the public on the critical issues facing this country. He explains why we need a government that (1) Follows the Constitution, (2) Honors the Truth, and (3) Serves the People.

Kelly Dougherty is a co-founder of Iraq Veterans Against the War and the current chair person of the board of directors.
She is an eight-year veteran of the Colorado National Guard where she served as both a medic and military police and was deployed to the Balkans and Iraq.

Sharon Kufeldt is the national vice-president of Veterans for Peace. She enlisted and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. She has also served as Commander of American Legion Post #315 in San Francisco. As the daughter of a combat marine from two wars, she is aware of the generational nature of PTSD. Educated as a Cultural Anthropologist and trained as both a minister and a multi-modality healer. Her life's work includes developing healing modalities for body/mind/emotional/spiritual post trauma recovery. She has worked with veterans and other survivors of trauma and sexual trauma in her private practice in Palo Alto, California.

Jacob Park is the webmaster of www.a28.org and has been the coordinator for the National Day of Impeachment. He has been overwhelmed by the responses from all over, the photos, the videos, the creativity and energy of people who took part in the National Impeachment Day, and is still in the process of updating the website, but will give us a bit of time to share his experience and the highlights of all the actions.

Amilie Coster organized the Coney Island "Beach Impeach."

Elizabeth de la Vega is a former federal prosecutor, who was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Minneapolis as well as a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force and Branch Chief in San Jose, California. Her specialty has been prosecuting people who break the law.

In her book- United States v. Bush et al., de la Vega lays out an actual indictment of the Bush Administration for crimes committed based on violation of U.S. law. She then proceeds to take the reader through a simulated presentation of the indictment to a grand jury.

In short, she brings Bush and his cohorts to the court of justice and makes them subject to the rule of law.

United States v. Bush et al. is not about impeachment, per se, because it is about a criminal indictment presented in a grand jury. The actual grand jury proceedings in the book are simulated, but the facts that the indictment is based on are real.

Carol S. Wolman, MD is a psychiatrist in Northern California. A lifelong peace activist, she has written extensively on the psychology of our times. She is actively working to impeach Bush and Cheney. She is one of the moving forces behind impeachbush-cheney.com. She ran for Congress as a nonpartisan write-in candidate in CA district 1, and was a coordinator of the Longhouse Coalition.

Anthony St. Martin began Pledgetoimpeach.org. He worked as a professional actor before founding a theater of political realism - North Beach Repertory, in San Francisco’s Cannery. (Winner of several awards for acting and directing.) He made the short political film “Homeland” in 2001, and began working on impeaching Bush in 2003, launching the Pledge to Impeach campaign in 2006.

Stephania Widger from Code Pink www.codepink4peace.org speaks about Code Pinks activities in Washington DC and San Francisco and the continual pressure that they have placed upon Nancy Pelosi to "Put Impeachment on the Table" and to "Stop the War."

Kucinich introduced articles of impeachment against Cheney in the run up to April 28, 2007, the National Day of Impeachment Actions www.a28.org. We will discuss the actions, Congress's response, and what people can do remove criminals from positions of power.

Impeachment should be on the table, shouted in the streets, enacted in the Halls of Congress. To create the political will, many of us have been working for years to create a groundswell of opposition to the criminal activities of the current occupants of the White House. Speaking on the show will be activists who have been working for some time on impeachment and will be able to give us an update on the national campaigns underway.

She is a key organizer in the San Francisco anti-war community and supports war resisters in the US and Canada. Nancy is a theatre arts professional and is on the Board of Directors for Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco's oldest alternative art space. CODEPINK is organizing a march for impeachment to Nancy Pelosi's house- http://www.pelosiwatch.org, following the Impeach Beach action on April 28th.
